We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natalia Spadini. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natalia below.
Natalia, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
At the age of 15, when I had my first paid gig in a hotel in São Paulo/Brazil. From that moment on I knew I would like to pursue my career as a musician.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles since 2013. Native from São Paulo, Brazil, I started to work with music at the age of fourteen, singing in hotels and private events in the city.
I have a lot of live performing experience, including three seasons singing on cruise ships around South America, and also singing in events in Brazil and the United States. I have worked as a session and touring vocalist for several years, recording and performing live with different artists. Her versatility as a singer led to performances of different genres all over the world.
With a Bachelor’s in Music at FAAM (SP-Brazil), a Degree in Vocal Performance at Los Angeles College of Music, and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at Cornel School of Contemporary Music, I was fortunate to study with renowned musicians such as Tierney Sutton, Abraham Laboriel, Dave Pozzi, Richie Gajate Garcia, and Dorian Holey.
I had the chance to perform at acclaimed venues and events like: Opening act for Universal Music platinum artist Claudia Leitte; Planeta Brasil by Globo TV; Dante Night Show – TV show co-produced between Universal Studios, Línea Abierta Group, and McFly; Make Music Pasadena, Summer Jazz Concert Series, NAMM Show and many more.
I was a finalist in the 25th USA Songwriting Competition and a Semi-finalist in the Brazil Press Awards USA.
Recently released my new single entitled “One Soul”, recorded and produced by Nando Raio (Andra Day), with Marcelo Bucater (Carrie Underwood) on drums, Vardan Ovsepian (Tatiana Parra, Peter Erskine) on piano, JP Mourão (Keiko Matsui) on guitar, and Felipe Fraga (Rick Martin) on percussion.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Art for artists is like the air for living beings, as cliché as it may seem, it is part of us in an almost vice-real way. The body and the mind ask us to make our art so that we can nourish this need for the call that art gives us.
It is a way of releasing our feelings, our frustrations, our achievements, it is through our art that we become completely vulnerable to show ourselves completely.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Resilience, discipline, and the love for what I do is what drives my career. Being resilient means knowing that the path is long but rewarding and that discipline and seriousness with your work can take you to unimaginable heights. And finally, loving what you do is the first thing on the list, to be done with pleasure and professionalism.
