We recently connected with Natalia Salivia and have shared our conversation below.
Natalia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe that success requires people—having a team and connections is essential. No major company operates with just one employee, and it’s okay to ask for help and accept support to grow. When I started NS Designs, I often did free work in exchange for clients posting my work and tagging me. This strategy helped get my name out there. Although it took a long time, it paid off. Now, I have a steady stream of clients and new inquiries without needing to market myself heavily. The journey taught me the value of building relationships and the importance of perseverance in achieving success.
Natalia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Natalia Salivia, the owner of NS Designs. I got into graphic design because of my passion for sports and creativity. I started by practicing extensively and taking on free projects to build my portfolio. Now, I offer a wide range of graphic design services for a variety of clients.
What makes me different is my commitment to delivering high-quality work and really understanding what my clients need. I’m especially proud of my work with organizations like TTFCA, TrackBarn, Sam Houston Athletics, and Ultimate Prospect, which have all helped me grow professionally. My goal is to create standout designs that truly represent my clients’ visions. I want people to know that I’m dedicated to producing excellent work and fostering strong, lasting relationships. If you need creative and dependable graphic design, I’m here to help!
Are you happy as an artist or creative? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a regular job?
Not yet, but my goal is to either get it to full-time or work for a major sports team like the Astros or Houston Rockets. Even though it hasn’t reached full-time status yet, it is succeeding and growing fast. It all started during COVID when I began doing graphic design to make a little extra cash. Job by job, it grew as I kept getting more opportunities. Nothing happened all at once, but with patience and trust, I steadily built my business into what it is today. Key milestones included landing my first big client and collaborating with organizations like TTFCA, Trackbarn, Sam Houston Athletics, and Ultimate Prospect. Each step forward reinforced my commitment and showed me that persistence pays off.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing my work on social media, printed materials, or clothing. It’s such an honor and gives me a real sense of accomplishment. I also love the creative process and seeing what I can come up with. Creating art on a computer is a unique experience compared to traditional canvas, and I enjoy the different challenges and possibilities it offers. Seeing high-profile individuals like Olympians or companies using and spreading my work adds an extra layer of fulfillment to my creative journey.
