Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natai Kirnon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natai, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I believe the thing my parents did right was allow my siblings and I to be ourselves and figure out the world in our own ways. They have always been very supportive but never restrictive and I appreciated that more as I got older. Both of my parents have artistic skills so that is where I believe I get it from. Over the course of my life, I saw them display their art skills is many ways, mainly my mom with her drawing ability. Even though I was a kid curious and into a lot of things, they both always encouraged my skills and displayed my art in their personal spaces which always made me feel good. My dad still has art from when I was a little girl hanging in his garage. Seeing things like that, remembering watching my mom sketch or coming across them and feeling like, wow, how did she do that, really added to my enjoyment of art in my past time.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an acrylic paint artist! I create art pieces based on different life inspiration’s such as shows, popular culture, books I have read, conversations, other art and so much more. I love creativity in all its forms, and I am always inspired by people and the art they choose to share with the world. From I was a young child, I always demonstrated an interest in creative arts. Both of my parents have artistic skills, so I know that is where my ability came from. I really enjoyed art when I was younger and as I got older, I still enjoyed it but made less time to actually do it. I always remained confident in my skills and as the rise of social media progressed, I got more into watching other artist. I started following their art journeys or simply following pages to see their latest artwork. It gave me the confidence to be like, Natai, your work is also this good! After having my daughter, we were still in the pandemic, and I was on maternity leave and that opened up time to thinking about my art more seriously. I started working on some ideas and decided I wanted to have a name for myself. That is when the name Natai Kreates was born, and I created a Instagram to begin sharing my art. I believe art is subjective and my main purpose with my art has always been just to share and have others enjoy what I created!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist is two-fold for me. I truly enjoy art and how it makes me feel. My passion for it makes me feel good and when I can bring out a similar emotion with someone who is just observing my art that also makes me feel really good. I believe art is subjective so I don’t expect everyone to see my art and like or love it the same way I or others may. I just always appreciate the genuine love, support and commentary I do receive.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes! The goal for my creative journey is to be able to express/create my art in all the forms I may want and be able to share it with others. When I think about my ideal life, it includes me having dedicated time to be able to work on my art, free from other life duties and responsibilities. My art is another form of expression for my thoughts and understandings of things and being able to freely do it is an important part of life for me.
