We were lucky to catch up with NassPacker recently and have shared our conversation below.
NassPacker, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have had had the chance to explore a little less than 50 counties over four different continents with some as unique as Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Tajikistan, or the Philippines for instance.
Each and every one of these experiences provided me with unique and unforgettable memories. From snow-capped mountains to lush jungles, grandiose deserts, or endless plains, our world never ceases to amaze me. Those experiences were such a blessing that I always gladly took the time to share them back. Indeed, I spent countless passionate hours advising and helping friends plan their trips. I must say that it felt good seeing how they were able to enjoy it afterward.
Since so many of them encouraged me to launch my own platform to reach more people, I took their advice and worked very hard to create NassPacker. I realized that gathering this information on a platform such as NassPacker.com could be beneficial to a larger community of fellow travelers. Thus, my vision and goal are to provide people with my experience and insights hoping that all this useful information could help them plan their trips efficiently.
Besides, I would be honored if some of the stories made someone want to travel or simply had them enjoy learning about other wonderful places in the world.
NassPacker, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
NassPacker is a platform created to help people find useful information that could help them plan their trips efficiently.
The other goal is to spark the curiosity of people and have them learn about other countries and cultures. With so much bad press given to us every day about remote places of this world, I believe it is important to remind each other that all people on this earth share the same basic needs, daily challenges, and life aspirations.
While most other similar platforms focus on pushing people to quit their job, leave everything behind and explore the world with unlimited time and budget, NassPacker focuses on what can realistically be done from the point of view of most of us.
Thus, with backpacking experience in 40+ countries, I help travelers with limited time and budget plan their trips without necessarily having to choose between quitting their job/life or enjoying authentic traveling experiences.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The road hasn’t been smooth and isn’t yet but this is precisely where the charm is.
It took a lot of hard work and dedication to proactively find ways to finance and explore remote parts of this world. Most of the time, I had to face loneliness by being constantly on the move. In fact, it took me years to build the knowledge needed to build the content for the NassPacker platform. While I always had the idea to start it, being a perfectionist has its drawbacks and made it hard for me to finally find the courage to start at some point.
I also had to learn complete new digital skills to learn how to build a website from scratch, how to build a brand, and how to master the tools of online marketing. It is an ongoing journey and I truly hope that challenges will keep coming on my way as they’re the best way to learn. Otherwise, where is the fun on the journey?
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This part is still an everyday struggle since I was never a social media person before starting Nasspacker.
It took and it still taking me a lot of effort to try and understand what is the most sustainable way to grow a community a engaged people on social media.
What I learned very quickly though is that there 3 main important aspects to take into account in order to get quality followers/subscribers.
The 1st one is to always strive to provide great and useful content to your community. I came to realize that people tend to interact more when they feel like the content has been helpful.
The 2nd is to make sure that your community can relate to you by finding a good balance between sharing great content and adding a bit of your personal vision/touch on how you feel about the things that you are sharing with them.
And the 3rd one is to always be genuine and not try to imitate something you are not. It never works.
