We were lucky to catch up with Naranda Millender recently and have shared our conversation below.
Naranda, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
High Heels & Destiny is a women platform that focuses on spiritual inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. My mission is to see women across the world being happy, whole, healed, and set free. By me being a certified life coach for women, I’m always talking to women of different ages and races across the world. One thing that I noticed was that there’s no difference between the two. Women are going through similar or the same thing. My mission is to turn women pain into purpose because our pain has a purpose. Yes, you heard me right! Your pain has a greater purpose. My mission is to show women how to make their pain work for them. The reason I’m passionate about this is because I once was that girl, that didn’t love herself. I once was that girl, that was broken. I was once that girl, that had low self-esteem. I was once that girl, looking for love in all the wrong places. I was once that girl, that had mama and daddy issues. Here it goes years later and I am happy, whole, healed, and set free. The reason I’m very passionate about this mission is because there are a world of women that are crying, hurting, stuck, and broken. They have allowed themselves to become norm in their pain. Life has broken them and they have given up. They feel there’s no hope for their lives. But I’ve come to change the game. I am here to give them hope and I want to instill core values that can change their lives and mindset forever. Grab my hand girl it’s time to walk into your destiny. We Got This!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey, girl heyyyy! My name is Naranda. I am a business owner, a motivational speaker, and a certified life coach for women. In 2019, I quit my job of three years, of only making $10.94 an hour with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. That sucks, right!! At that very moment, I decided it was time to pursue my purpose. I wanted everything life had to offer me. At the time, I was going through a divorce from my former husband. This was the moment I knew it was time to change the game for a lifetime. I grabbed my heels and got prepared to walk into my destiny. I started my business High Heels & Destiny. High Heels & Destiny is a women platform that focuses on spiritual inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. I also have a YouTube channel with over a hundred videos that strictly focus on helping change the lives of women across the world. I am passionate about seeing transformation take place in the lives of women in the world. My mission is to see women across the world stomping on their pain and turning it into purpose.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
It’s very important when building a business that you have a website. Your website is a reputation of you, your business, and your product. All of High Heels & Destiny products are sold through my website. My T-shirts, my courses, and my life coaching booking are all done through my website. Also, we make all our T-shirts. There are no manufacturing companies that are making our products. I design the tees, heat-press, and package them. However, we do order our blank tees from a vendor but everything else is done through us. We like to personally customize and brand our product.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped me build my reputation in this market is one simple thing which was being transparent and relatable. I wasn’t focused on selling my audience a lifestyle because I wanted to see souls saved and lives changed. I was more focused on being authentic, raw. and relatable to my audience. I wanted to show women that I’m just like you. I hurt like you. I may mistakes like you, I fail just like you. There’s no difference between you and me. One of the most important things is being consistent. You can’t show up every now and then for your audience, you have to be consistent.
