As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Custom Home Realty was equally formed in 2017 by Deborah Flanagan and Naomi Vogt. Having both come from an independent brokerage, and having watched the industry become saturated with big box real estate franchises, the decision to open an independent was relatively easy. After having spent years in the industry developing and perfecting their marketing and sales approach, Deb and Naomi created the CHR brand with the intent to grow at a modest pace by hand selecting quality agents both new to the business and with years of experience. From early on in their careers, Deb and Naomi each saw a need for a brokerage which possessed the flexibility to embrace modern technology and design while maintaining and embracing the very core of the business, client relations along with successful marketing and advertising. Custom Home Realty now exceeds the standards of Real estate by merging both a traditional and contemporary approach to home sales. At CHR, all agents are encouraged to keep up to date with the latest industry trends along with continuous education. As a brokerage, Deb, Naomi and the entire CHR team work tirelessly to make lasting impressions to all buyer and seller clients entrusting CHR to guide them through one of life’s largest financial decisions, Home Buying and Selling.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Having opened the Custom Home Realty Brokerage in 2018, we had already developed a rapport within the community as as one of the area’s top real estate teams. So, fortunately we were able to harness our reputations going into business while focusing on defining our company through branding and marketing, and really just setting ourselves apart from the big box franchises that saturated our area at the time. Owning the company meant that we didn’t just have to sell ourselves to buyers and sellers, but agents too. We came up with a comprehensive business plan that would take us through the next five years of recruitment, advertising, marketing and inevitable growth. We are proud to say that almost 6 years later we have built one of the area’s top brokerages. We have three offices and roughly fifty agents, many of whom can confidently call themselves top agents as well.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

As small business owners in our community, our jobs are greater than just buying and selling real estate. As a brokerage, we prioritize our time and resources to benefit the surrounding communities through volunteer work and donations. In addition to advertising and marketing to the area, we firmly believe that giving back to our community and teaching our agents to do the same, has created relationships and trust between our company and our clients’ which in turn has brought us the most business.
