We were lucky to catch up with Naomi Riley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Naomi, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.

I have always had the desire to help others, I think that it is something most of us should aspire to. ‘ To have a servants heart” . It wasn’t until,. after I was in a tragic car accident in 2017 where I suffered several injuries including a traumatic brain injury, that I realized our society needed so much more healing than one person could ever imagine. When in treatment and had to learn to develop my new normal, I realized that our culture has become victims of own our society, and how we have allowed many things to happen unapologetically, until after an incidents occur. We try and create change by force and then get wrapped up into the politics of what is right and wrong. Our society has allowed major issues to happen over the course of decades, without the need to rectify the issues at hand. So, I set myself on a destiny to make a difference for future generations to come. I made it my mission and purpose, to look at many of the wrongs, develop a system that could correct the issues at hand and teach others while doing so. During the 80’s & 90’s our culture did not have cell phones and the use of social media as we see it today. Times were a bit slower. I remember being so angry at the driver that caused my car accident, because he changed my life forever, in one split second this person changed the course of my destiny by not paying attention to the road. So I needed to create change for a better world.

Naomi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have worked as a business consultant helping thousands of business owners leverage their time and money and have given tips on strategizing ways to work smarter not harder for the past 3 years. I created a multimillion dollar agency “quickly doing this by working with high-end professional”s. My passions are solving problems for business owners, coaches or consultants where they may feel stuck at monetizing their growth. The Text Pledge project became another my passion of mine to help educate students, provide a safe space for students and victims to share stories, promote and create change and assist many governments globally. It all just makes common sense, and helps our society heal from many social dilemmas. I give presentations now on a variety of topics from, Inspiring other to “Do more”, Other topics include; Stopping Distracted Driving , Ending Discrimination (DEI training), Ending Acts of Violence, Preventing Bullying and Cyberbullying, Raising Mental Health, Stopping Domestic Abuse and Assault, Preventing Drug Abuse, Stopping Human Trafficking, Protecting Animal Rights, and Protecting the Environment. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

There were many times that I would cry, be discouraged by others from by my efforts, and told that it wasn’t possible. But I am a firm believer that we are all sent to this earth with a greater purpose. It was definitely one day at a time in the early days. My diagnoses from the auto accident didn’t come for 9 months until after it happened. That was the most excruciating time of my life. I remember more than anything wanting to end my life due to the tremendous amount of pain that had been inflicted upon me. Even though I couldn’t control my physical body and appearances, I could control my mind to operate differently. I really didn’t want to live during the early months in 2018, because there was an unclear diagnoses, be given later, that showed why I felt that way. I remember thinking to myself that if I could help other victims of trauma, then I would at least fight to help them. The power we hold within us to overcome obstacles and challenges, is more than one can imagine. Our Limbic system teaches us to freeze, flop, friend, fight or flight which are immediate, automatic and instinctive responses to fear. I was in a state of fear for so long, thinking that I might not be able to take and logically think or do certain actions on my own. I chose to take the matter into my own hands, and keep fighting. I think really now in life, we need to keep fighting for what is right for all individuals. It makes our world a much safer and kinder place to be a part of.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your firm or practice?

I’ve been able to fund my business and the nonprofit thus far from hard work and knowledge. Always be a student and never try to do it on your own. Expect the guidance from others. Great friendships and partnerships will arise from that. Become the student of your business functions and especially learn the accounting part of it, to make it function smarter and better. Depending on your niche market, always do a yearly review of what can make the business operations work better and bolder. Love to learn and love learning from the best. I make connections and invest in growing programs that will inevitably help both of my businesses thrive. Remember that knowledge is key. Whether we are helping those grow, emotionally, spiritually, financially, mentally or physically, you’re always helping them to become better individuals and by providing them with the tools they need, so they too may be able to teach others what you have taught them. I think that is the actual “Circle of Life”. I have boundaries as well. My non-negotiables are manipulation on any realm by any team member, being lied to by employees, and deception. Those issues are never fun to deal with as a business owner. But It comes with the responsibility of being in charge.
