Hi Nandan, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

Enveloped in the captivating world of theater, I found myself drawn to the intricate dance of professionals working tirelessly behind the curtain. This curiosity took root during a local shoot near my home in India, where my father, sensing my interest, accompanied me to witness the mesmerizing orchestration centered around the camera. Numbers were fervently shouted, and people seamlessly synchronized their actions, creating an environment that felt like an entirely different realm.

Intrigued and inspired, I expressed my aspiration to pursue a career in this dynamic field. While my father appreciated the idea, he wisely encouraged me to complete my high school education and secure a place in a reputable college before delving deeper into this newfound passion. During this time, I devoted myself to refining my craft, capturing evocative 35mm stills and delving into the intricacies of photography, composition, and the art of storytelling through visuals.

Upon completing my college journey, my father, true to his word, embraced my dream wholeheartedly. Without hesitation, he facilitated my enrollment in a film school outside our home state in India, providing me with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the realm of filmmaking. Subsequently, he extended his unwavering support by encouraging me to pursue a specialized education in cinematography in the vibrant city of Los Angeles.

This journey, marked by curiosity, dedication, and paternal encouragement, ultimately led me to the thriving world of cinematography, where I continue to weave stories through the lens with a profound appreciation for the artistry that first captivated me behind the scenes.
