We were lucky to catch up with Na’kia Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Na’Kia, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe success is centered around consistency and your ability to manifest. Once you claim something and speak it into existence, it’s already yours. The key is to move in a manner that supports those dreams and set goals to turn them into reality. Self-confidence also plays a major role. Trusting yourself and allowing the universe to prevail is the key.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Na’Kia Williams, I am a licensed Maryland Real Estate Professional. I entered the business in 2018 after finally deciding to go after my passion for real estate. Becoming a realtor was a passion of mine since High School but I decided to pursue college and enter the workforce. It wasn’t until I became a homeowner in 2016 that I began to rethink my career path. I discussed the idea with my mom and my realtor and decided to take the course. After two attempts, I received my license and joined my realtor’s brokerage. I have been with him since. During the past (nearly) seven years I have been able to maintain substantial relationships with many of my clients and assist them with achieving their real estate goals. I believe my relatability and tenacity set me apart from many of my counterparts. I like to keep things professional while also exhibiting my true self. I believe this is why my clients welcome me so freely and we stay connected after the sale. I am most proud of my ability to keep learning. This business has lots of twists and turns and it keeps me on my toes. I never feel too comfortable or “seasoned” that I shy away from obtaining more education or simply connecting with people that I can learn from. I want to let future clients and business partners know that I take my business very serious. I make mistakes but I take accountability and I always ensure my clients’ goals are my priority.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clientele has been referrals and my social media presence. Although I am still growing on social media, I have been able to reach the right people who find value in my content and trust me enough to at least inquire about my services. I stay connected to my clients, so they feel comfortable telling their family and friends about me. This is something I don’t take lightly because people simply don’t have to recommend you.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
During my nearly seven-year tenure in real estate I have been a dual-career agent several times. This was due to market conditions, personal situations and an overall misunderstanding of my goals. I would work full-time jobs, see clients after work and try to fill my weekend with as much real estate business as possible. This left me with very little personal time, a buildup of household chores and most importantly, no time for my son. Often times, I felt burned out, overwhelmed and unaccomplished. I dedicated most of my time at the “9-5” to real estate tasks. This became a major distraction and had an effect on my productivity. One day I decided to go after the life I wanted, I resigned from my job and decided to fully focus on what I wanted. This journey has been action packed, lol!! I feel so free and I love value the flexibility. The decision to become a full-time entrepreneur has caused me to work smarter and practice consistency and patience. I love it….
