Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nakia Poole. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Nakia, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always wanted to be a creative. The best way for me to express myself was through art. It was the only way I felt alive. And then I thought “I could do this forever! I can make this feeling bigger than me”, and then my business was born. God is my source for everything I do, so I am very grateful for the gifts he installed in me. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m seeing the impact I’ve had on my client and my students lives, but I never take credit for their hard work and their decision to choose themselves.

Nakia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Nakia Poole and I’m an International Model, Model Coach, Creative Director, Author, and Life Coach. I began five years in college. I help my clients be able to express themselves the best way possible. I always had a natural talent of being a helpmate. God just so happen to make me a creative.
What I believe set me apart from other is I take business personally and I’m very integral. Building relationships with my clients is essential to why my clients know they are in good hands. I also feel as though I have very unique perspective that I bring to the table that people can’t get enough of. I’m proud in the result I get from every service I provide. To any knew clients I may have, know I put my all into everything I believe in.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Once I overcame my social anxiety, I began to make long lasting connections. My mother used to say ” If you don’t have anything, you’ll have your word, so make sure people can trust it. It is tattooed on the of brain, especially when dealing with others. I move with a level of integrity and with an understanding of the law of attraction. I only good things to come my way so I good out, and that includes my energy, presence, work ethic, and results in my work.
I believe I got to a point where my work began to speak for me. Nothing I put out goes unnoticed or isn’t the quality of past work, if not better. I don’t believe in plateaus; I always have to go up.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn society standards. The reality is, I am a 5’5 with long legs and a short torso from Memphis, Tennessee. statistically, I wasn’t even supposed to make it on stores locally led alone be an international treasure. I had a lot of no’s due to what the traditional model is supposed to look like. I remember walking into a casting and immediately being turned around because they saw I was shorter than others. I was down about it for a while, but I knew what God showed me.
