Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nakia Addison. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nakia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Coming up with a name was definitely a challenge! Nutri_X_Thetics was born from my passion for both nutrition and esthetics—two fields I’m professionally trained in and deeply connected to. I’ve been a licensed dietitian for over 10 years, and later expanded into esthetics as my second career. The name reflects the fusion of both disciplines, and I credit a close friend who helped me shape the final version.
While Nutri_X_Thetics marked the start of my journey combining nutrition and skincare, I’ve since transitioned to a new DBA: KeyBodyVille. This rebrand represents the broader vision I have for my business, especially as I plan to expand into body-focused services like wraps, in addition to facials, waxing, and incorporating nutritional guidance into client care. The name KeyBodyVille continues to highlight the central role the body plays in both nutrition and esthetics.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi there! I’m a sassy, kind-hearted, and attentive soul who wears two professional hats: licensed dietitian and licensed esthetician. My journey into skincare and nutrition has been anything but traditional, and I love sharing it.
As a teenager growing up in New Orleans, I was obsessed with skincare—long before I knew there was a profession dedicated to it. I originally wanted to be a pharmacist, but after Hurricane Katrina disrupted everything in 2005, I found myself drawn to nutrition. I believe nutrition chose me—it gave me purpose, healing, and direction. I’ve now been a dietitian for over 10 years, helping people navigate their wellness journeys through food and lifestyle.
When I moved to Las Vegas, my skin struggled with the drastic climate change—dryness, breakouts, the works. That’s when I found Ceci, my first esthetician, through a Groupon. I was just 18, but the experience stuck with me. She didn’t just transform my skin; she inspired me. Years later, with Ceci’s support and mentorship, I enrolled in esthetics school in 2021. I had planned to work in a spa, but when that didn’t pan out, I decided to bet on myself and start my own business.
That’s how Nutri_X_Thetics was born—a fusion of my two passions: nutrition and esthetics. I’ve since rebranded to KeyBodyVille, a name that reflects my commitment to holistic self-care and future offerings like body wraps and more. I specialize in Brazilian waxing and facials, and I weave nutrition education into my services wherever it fits naturally. Clients call me the self-care queen—I prioritize comfort, communication, and education in every appointment.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend skin care and nutrition in a meaningful way. I’m proud of my ability to build genuine relationships with clients and create a safe space where they feel seen, heard, and cared for—inside and out. I do this business part-time, on my terms, because I believe in quality over quantity and staying connected to both fields I love.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source of new clients has truly been word of mouth and Google. Genuine reviews from my clients on Google have made a huge impact—people trust real experiences, and that’s often how they find me. I’m so grateful for the referrals and the honest feedback that continues to help my business grow.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn is that I can’t expect others to show up with the same qualities I bring to the table. I’m naturally a communicator—I value clear, open dialogue, especially with my clients. So when I follow up and ask how their experience was, I truly want honest feedback. But I’ve learned that not everyone communicates the same way or feels comfortable sharing their feelings, even when asked with genuine care. Understanding that has helped me manage expectations and meet people where they are, with grace.
