We were lucky to catch up with Naki Edwards recently and have shared our conversation below.
Naki, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m from an urban area called Parramore in Orlando Florida. I was a raised by a single mother and I’m the second oldest of 5 boys. I started my clothing brand in 2017 when I lived in Atlanta. I produce custom pieces, tracksuits, sweatsuits, graphic tee’s, stacked pants, and custom suits. I can make anything. I taught myself how to sew in 2022 when I released my first custom piece. Then I connected with my manufacturing company in 2023 in Los Angeles. I think what sets me apart from others is my sense of fashion and my boldness of choice. I think you have to really be confident about yourself and bold to wear my brand. That’s how I am as a person and I create my brand behind me. I try to inspire anyone I come in contact with. I like to uplift others and help people win. Those are things I’m most proud of, helping people become better and win. I want people to know that there is no perfect time to start. There is no perfect time to start that idea in your head, you’ve been dreaming or praying or keep telling people about. It’s going to happen when it’s meant to happen but also know that faith without work is dead. So put some type of hustle behind that thing you’ve been thinking about doing. You have to start from somewhere. And it’s ok to start in whatever season you are in. You don’t have to have the exact amount of money, knowledge or know the right people. Just start! And don’t be scared to fail! You’ll win some you’ll lose some, it’s ok. People who are scared fail are people who are scared to try! It’s ok to fail. Don’t let it stop you from growing because you can’t take a L. You got this!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Wear your brand! Wear your product! Wear it and bring extra with you! Wherever you go! Represent your brand!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing people in my brand. Posting pictures in the merch and coming up with dope captions, all of that just feel so good! Wearing it over and over or even putting it on in my presence I love that! Seeing people apply the knowledge I gave them and progress with it is rewarding! I feel like we won together when that happens!
