We were lucky to catch up with Najair recently and have shared our conversation below.
Najair , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I would say my mother did a lot of right things with me . She always let me do my own thing and be my own person when it came to expressing myself creatively. She would always provide me with whatever I needed like tools or supplies when I wanted to create / work on a project but overall the best thing is she always supported me and never made me feel like I had to doubt my self or my abilities … raising me to be believe in myself .
I could share countless stories like the time i went away to stay in Atlanta for a while with family , even though she was scared to let me go she supported my decision anyway .even with her knowing how ambitious I am and how quickly I can change my mind and go from one creative thing to another she still supports .
Because of that never ending support is the reason I feel brave enough to express my self as a music artist and Chase my dreams no matter what

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Ima 22 year old born and raised in Cleveland, oh. Growing up loving music and seeing artists like OutKast, missy elliot, lil Wayne, Kanye, Beyonce, drake etc really ignited a love of music and performing within in me. Seeing these type of artists inspired me to be my most creative self going from doing photography, clothing design and now writing music and recording songs that I write personally.
Doing all of these things are fun but it’s music that really ignites a fire in me but it also can be challenging due to the market and also trying to market myself as an artist, trying to be my own creative director , manager, and writer all at the same time
so what I think sets me apart is my hunger, the fact that I want it the most and that I’m willing to work for every single thing which happens to be a lot.
And overall what I’m most proud of is how much effort I put into creating my visuals for my songs, as of right now 3 of 4 of my music videos were shot entirely by me as a mean to curate my own aesthetic hoping to eventually find a videographer who I feel synced to and gets my vision as I do

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson that I had to unlearn is “ waiting on the perfect / right time” there would be so many times that I’ll would talk myself out of idea or creative vision saying “ I’ll have to wait to this happen” or “ i can only do this thing once I’ve gotten here in my journey” there a came a point where I had to be like “ everyone has to start somewhere” because no matter how long I put something off there would be no “ perfect time” and the best thing would be to putt myself out there and try.
This is what particularly helped me put my first song out “ speed up” out. Leading up to it I was really in my head thinking it had to be perfect when all along I just needed to start and begin building my journey

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing has been seeing my music resonate with those around me particularly hearing my nieces sing my song or hearing friends of mines saying “ I needed this” when I drop a song about dealing with relationship drama.
