Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Naja Small. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Naja, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
This is something I’ve thought about the past year a lot! What do I want my legacy to be as a person, a business owner, a wrestler, and at the end of my life. Overall I would love my legacy to be the people I influenced, helped, and taught. As a person I would want to be remembered for my work ethic. I would want people to know that I was a good person who really cared about people and helping them. In wrestling I want my legacy to be my body of work, my work ethic, my creativity, and influence.
Naja, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I worked for other companies, sat at a job for 8 hours that I hated, or struggled finding happiness working for others, it was easy to start the entrepreneur process. I already had a few clients on the side, so it just took me planning and structuring, then attempting to secure more clients.
My business is a creative business. Najasism Productions is a one stop shop offering reels, promo videos, short films, commercials, graphic design of logos, flyers, business cards, and more. My experience in so many different roles have made me the person and business owner that u I am today. I have a lot of experience in front of the camera, and behind the scenes. Actor, Director, Producer, Video Editor, Pro Wrestler, Dancer, to sum it up I’ve done a lot as a creative.
The biggest advice I can give is consistency is key. Consistent quality, posting, contacting clients, advertising, and training..
Have you ever had to pivot?
The past 2 years were critically different. I had no idea how much the pandemic would change my business model. One thing that changed were the services I offered. With the increase use of social media and business posting, I added reels, stories, social media posting management, drone footage, small business packages, and real estate packages to my services.
I am still currently restructuring, looking for a building to operate from, and coming up with new marketing ideas. I realize this journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Everything takes time. I just stay positive and keep pressing forward.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I can be honest as a creative, when creating graphics or video, it’s the excitement and joy I see in a clients eye once they see their final product. As a wrestler, I’m addicted to hearing that crowd roar, gasp, I love entertaining. I don’t know if I will ever be able to only be a behind the scenes guy. I realize I’ve bee a creative all my life and it’s actually what I was born to do.
