We recently connected with Naiomi Sounds and have shared our conversation below.
Naiomi , appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
My latest project BLOOM is an extremely meaningful project to me. I started working on these songs in 2023 while I was still living in San Diego. One track, titled “Could You” I actually wrote over a decade ago when I was just 18 years old. When I moved to LA in 2024 I went through a bit of a creative block and I was nervous that I would start to want to leave this collection of songs behind and start new creations. I was changing so much and eager to begin new work. I knew they were special though and I felt deeply that they were supposed to be finished and shared. I knew I couldn’t move forward until I completed this project. This collection is special because these songs are very future focused. I knew at the time that I wrote them that I wasn’t going to fully align with the words I was writing until I could truly embody them and their energy. So, I put myself in the shoes of my future self in order to channel what I wanted to feel. Finding this perspective is a spiritual experience for me because it forces my brain to wire the pathways of this reality as if it actually exists. Releasing this music has helped me feel ready to move forward into the next phase of my life. I have been eager to express all of these new feelings I’ve felt in the past year. I’ve grown more into the version of myself that I have been trying to align with. I hope everyone can feel my spirit more uplifted in these songs. I hope my healing inspires others.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have wanted to be a Songwriter/Artist/Creative for my entire life and have been practicing my crafts in many different ways over the years. I have written for myself and others, been a part of A Cappella groups, bands, artist projects, and create my own music. I am also in the beginning stages of creating music and books for children and believe that my creative background mixed with my background in Child Development creates space for me to inspire children and families through music as well. I have a very active and imaginative mind and have lots of creative inspiration to share in a multitude of ways. I can help with writing, singing, planning, creative visualization and actualization and more. What sets me apart from others is that I can always bring a fresh and optimistic perspective to any creative project and I have an uplifting energy and can work well with others too. I am most proud of how I am able to walk through difficult situations and continue to have a positive outlook on life. I hope to help others feel that way too through creativity and self expression.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is getting to see how my creations affect the people around me. I love hearing that something I created made someone else feel seen or understood or caused them to dance or cry or sing along. I create to heal things within myself and I also create because I know I am not alone in what I feel. I express myself to help free my mind, feel more connected to others, and to enjoy a present moment. Being an artist guides me through this difficult but beautiful path that I wouldn’t change for anything in the world.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to continue to level up against myself. I challenge myself to rise and aim to be better than I was before. I plan to never stop creating and to stay open to continuously learning, connecting, and growing. My goal is to inspire others and guide creatives in any way that I can. I would love to connect :) @naiomisounds
