We were lucky to catch up with NaijaKhloe recently and have shared our conversation below.
NaijaKhloe , appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
They say “if you don’t succeed try and try again”. The key word in that quote is TRY. How will you succeed if you don’t even try. We often hold ourselves back because of fear of what if, but on the other hand what if everything goes well, what if it goes as planned. Wouldn’t that be worth experiencing.
With a world where everyone is trying make it I was nervous starting my YouTube channel, I was scared as to whether or not starting my online boutique would be successful. In my mind why would people pick me in over the million other youtubers and online stores. I knew if God was placing these things in my heart and mind then he will surely make a way for me. I started saving more and more so I can invest in myself to start my business and get what I needed to begin filming.
The thing about taking risk is you never know the outcome, and so what if it doesn’t go as planned you Pause, Re-assess and Make changes to start again if possible.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Naijakhloe as I’m known on most of my social media platforms.
I am Content Creator, Mom, Educator, Youtuber, Business Women, and Selfcare Advocate.
Born in Nigeria traveled by Brooklyn Bridge down to Texas. Where I reside with my lovely family. I have 2 daughters.
I am owner of my online boutique NaijaKhloeKhloset which I started in 2021. Our motto is: “Where Khlassy Meets Khomfy”. Our pieces can take you from running errands to a nice time out with the girls or date. Khomfy can still be Khute.
As a first generation American I am proud of my roots and culture they have given me the courage to want to do more for my family and build generational wealth.
How did you build your audience on social media?
When It came to building my audience to be honest I’m still building it doesn’t ever stop. One thing I did was I started following pages of people who I shared same interest other influencers and alot of them would give helpful tips and I learned. You first have to be willing to be a student and learn from others. I would also look at the analytics provided by Instagram and YouTube to see what areas and where I was trending and build from there.
Secondly, be comfortable in who you are. Your not going to be for everyone but those that chose to follow you appreciate them. There is something in you that draws them daily.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to learn that not everyone you know will support you. Some people just watch to see how well you do or how far you fall.
When I started my YouTube channel I was expecting all the people I know to watch and to share my content but that wasn’t the case. Even the family and friends I was close to would barely watch me or share my content. It was hurtful I took it personally because I was the person that supported others, promoted their achievements.
At the end of the day I learned I’m doing this for me, and if I continue to be consistent and true to my calling and purpose everything will line up and God will send those who I’m suppose to help or who will support my journey. Because it is journey.
