Nai , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

I recently released an EP project titled “Matter of Time.” Although I recorded these songs a couple of years back, I perceive them to be relevant more than ever, especially at this time in my life. With everything that happened this past year, I’ve been telling myself that it’ll be a matter of time until it all comes together. What’s crazy is I can tell the more I put my energy into the music, the more God shows me I’m going in the right direction. It’s like a drop of water that makes the pool ripple. My intuition helps me watch for the signs in which my frequency increases. I walk into a room, and it’s all eyes on me. The energy I carry is genuine, naturally drawing people in.

Not too long ago, I was working out at this gym. I’m in the locker room getting ready to hit the sauna after my workout, and this man walks up to me, asking if I played any sports. It’s probably because most consider me tall, but I chuckled and replied I do music. “I knew there was something special about you!” he said. Flattered but curious, I asked what he meant by that, considering he never met me or heard my music. But with a settled tone, looking me dead in my eyes, he told me that I was the type of person who could change the world. “It’s just a matter of time, young man.” He implied. That single moment gave me so much reassurance and clarity. I thanked him and told him you don’t know how much I needed to hear that. The moral of the story is keep doing you and it’ll be a matter of time.

All of my songs are dear to me, but the theme behind this project weighs heavy. These aren’t just songs that sound good; I show you the world through my eyes. Telling my story through sound, sharing the things that shape my reality, and seeing them play out on a daily basis. That’s a blessing in itself. It defines me and makes this EP very meaningful to me.

Hi, I’m Nai Ivy, a.k.a. Fly Nai —a 29-year-old independent artist, entrepreneur, and certified personal trainer from a small town who decided to take a leap of faith and move to Los Angeles. My journey started with a dream: to become a musician and discover what I was truly capable of. Little did I know this path would lead me to build a multifaceted business that blends creativity, empowerment, and personal growth.

From Small Beginnings to a Big Vision

Coming from a small town, I always felt the pull to express myself in ways that went beyond the usual expectations. Music was my first love, and it gave me the courage to chase bigger dreams. Moving to LA was a decision fueled by passion and a determination to create something meaningful—not just for myself but for others.

Before I arrived, I quickly realized the power of owning your story and turning it into something tangible. That’s when the idea for Spread Your Wings Productions was born. I wanted to build a company that reflected not just my journey, but the potential in everyone to rise, evolve, and shine in their own unique way.

Building the Business

Starting from scratch wasn’t easy. I had to learn the ins and outs of merchandising, branding, and business management, often on my own. I began by turning my original artwork into products—songs, apparel, and other items that spoke to the creativity and resilience I wanted to share with the world. Each piece was designed to inspire and remind people of their own potential.

I didn’t stop at merchandise. Over time, I expanded my offerings to include services like fitness coaching and mentorship, all under the Spread Your Wings banner. My goal was—and still is—to create a brand that isn’t just about selling products, but about building a community where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to pursue their own dreams.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

This desire I have to achieve my dream to be a successful independent artist has been and will always be a lifelong goal for me. When I do achieve it, I will continue to make music. It’s what keeps me alive, and it fulfills the inner child in me. The goal is to take it as far and professional as I can. It’s kinda funny; I do treat it like a mission, but I know it’s about enjoying the journey, not enduring it.

I’m fortunate to have my music take me places I’d only imagine. I pray I can continue to live out this dream and accomplish it by having my music take me all over the world and carry on these experiences. The main goal, though, is to share my wealth and success with those who supported me along the way.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

It’s very intimidating to put yourself out there as an artist and to expose yourself for everybody to see. There’s always that fear of not being accepted or your music failing. But that’s where you have to be courageous and fight back all the doubts because, at the end of the day, it’s just you versus you. It’s up to you to make it happen. Unlocking that, you’re able to share your story. To have people relate and accept you for who you are, there’s no greater feeling. Watching it positively impact others will bring you such satisfaction; nothing compares to it. Music is the universal language that brings people together, and to be a part of that, I’d consider it priceless. There’s no greater reward.
