We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nadjee Jocelyn. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nadjee below.
Nadjee, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission as a wardrobe stylist and producer is rooted in fostering creative expression and empowering the voices of underrepresented designers in the fashion industry. Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of styling for events like New York Fashion Week, but I’ve also witnessed how challenging it is for emerging designers—especially those from the Boston community—to break into these spaces. This realization inspired me to create Dawn Showings, a series of intimate presentations that provide local fashion designers a platform to showcase their work in a professional environment. The name “Dawn” represents a new beginning—a fresh start for creatives to share their vision and gain the recognition they deserve.
What makes this mission meaningful to me is my personal connection to the creative journey. As someone who has navigated the challenges of the fashion world, I understand how transformative it can be to have someone believe in your potential and provide opportunities to grow. It’s not just about presenting clothes; it’s about fostering a community where talent, innovation, and culture can thrive. By focusing on local designers, I hope to inspire others to see the richness and potential within their own communities, proving that incredible artistry can be found in every corner if we take the time to look for it.

Nadjee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Nadjee, a wardrobe stylist and producer passionate about using fashion as a tool for storytelling and empowerment. My journey into this industry was sparked by my appreciation for the artistry of clothing and the way it allows individuals to express their identity. My career spans personal styling, editorial projects, and creative direction. I’ve also served as a styling assistant for commercials and campaigns, which helped me develop a eye for detail and versatility in managing different aesthetics. Alongside styling, I’m a producer for Dawn Showings, a series of curated fashion presentations that spotlight local designers, providing them a platform to showcase their collections in a polished, intimate setting.
What sets me apart is my multidimensional approach to fashion and creativity. I aim to not only dress my clients, but to deeply understand their narratives and translate those stories into visual form. Whether I’m working on a personal styling project, a commercial shoot, or producing a presentation, my goal is to craft moments that are impactful, intentional, and reflective of individuality.
The challenges I address for my clients often center around the gap between vision and execution. Many creatives, particularly emerging designers, have incredible talent but lack the resources or exposure to bring their work to the forefront. Through Dawn Showings, I help solve this problem by creating an accessible space for their work to shine, while providing the professional support they need to feel confident and celebrated.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built through my work. The creative industry can be isolating, but I’ve been able to foster connections between designers, photographers, models, and stylists through events and collaborations. Watching people come together to create something beautiful is incredibly fulfilling.
For potential clients, followers, or collaborators, I want them to know that my work is about more than just clothes. It’s about empowerment, representation, and creating opportunities for meaningful connections. Whether you’re a designer seeking a platform, a brand looking for innovative styling, or someone who wants to elevate their wardrobe, my approach is always rooted in understanding your story and bringing it to life.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my creative journey is the value of not being afraid to reach out to people or brands you admire. Early on, I used to hesitate, thinking I needed to have it all figured out before making connections. But the truth is, so many people and companies are open to collaboration or even just having a conversation. Taking that first step to introduce yourself and express your interest can open doors you didn’t even know existed.
Another resource I wish I tapped into earlier was the opportunity to work as an assistant. Assisting other creatives in your field—whether they’re stylists, producers, or photographers—is invaluable. It gives you a chance to learn the ins and outs of the industry from those with experience, all while building your own skill set and network. Observing how others approach their craft, handle challenges, and execute their vision can be a masterclass in itself.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring ideas to life and witness the impact they have on others. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking a vision—whether it’s a styled look, a concept for a shoot, or a collaborative project—and transforming it into something tangible that resonates with people. Fashion, in particular, is such a powerful medium for self-expression, and being able to help someone tell their story through what they wear or create is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
