We recently connected with Nadja Artis and have shared our conversation below.
Nadja , appreciate you joining us today. Has Covid resulted in any major changes to your business model?
COVID-19 played a pivotal role in shaping my business model. Initially, the pandemic sparked the inception of my luxury picnic business as people sought safe and enjoyable ways to spend time together.
Our emergence during a time when individuals craved fun and connection while prioritizing safety positioned us to meet that demand effectively. As time went on, my business slowly expanded to include event specialties such as balloon decor and tablescapes, in addition to picnics.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m thrilled to introduce myself and my brand. I am born and raised in Buffalo, NY.
During the chaos of COVID-19, a coworker invited me on a picnic. What began as a casual picnic outing, complete with snacks, drinks, and games, ignited a passion within me to transform this experience into something truly grand and unforgettable for others.
At the core of my business are luxury picnics tailored for small to large groups, designed to create memorable moments of joy and connection. I’ve expanded my business to include balloon decor and meticulously curated tablescapes for events, adding an extra layer of sophistication and charm to every occasion.
What sets me apart? Well, it’s me. My relentless drive, tenacity, and uncompromising eye for all things luxury define not only my brand but also the experiences I create for my clients. I take pride in my commitment and continual growth, ensuring that each event leaves a lasting impression.
But perhaps what I’m most proud of is my discipline. Every day, I’m driven by both personal and financial goals, pushing myself to new heights of success while maintaining an unwavering dedication to excellence.
Ultimately, what I want potential clients to know is I am here to exceed expectations, to turn dreams into reality, and to create moments that are as extraordinary as they are unforgettable.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The art of pivoting in business is a skill I’ve honed through my journey as a luxury picnic provider. Dealing with unpredictable weather and the occasional equipment mishap is par for the course.
I decided to introduce a new picnic product to a first-time customer. Everything was set up beautifully, without a cloud in sight. Just as the picnic began rain decided to crash the party.
I promptly rescheduled the picnic for another day, at no additional cost to the customer. They were incredibly understanding and satisfied with how I handled the situation.
Sure, I can’t control the weather, but what I can control is how I respond to challenges and provide top-notch customer service. It’s all about ensuring that every experience, rain or shine, leaves a lasting impression and a smile on my customers’ faces.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My journey into building a social media audience started during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone was glued to their phones more than ever.
Luxury picnics were new in the area, so the curiosity factor worked in my favor. I made it a point to stay consistent, I started with posting every other day across both Instagram and Facebook. I would post eye-catching reels and engaging stories, I made sure to offer a diverse range of content to keep my audience hooked.
