We recently connected with Nadia Payne and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nadia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am very happy being an artist, People don’t know that before I became an rapper/singer I was signed to a modeling agency for 3+ years. I love writing and creating a masterpiece because I want to the listeners to come into my world and understand me better as not only an artist but a person aka human
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As I stated before, I been doing entertainment since I was a child. I was a ballerina at the age of 7 years old; As I grew older I would start doing multiple things such as dance, singing in a choir, and my most known role to date is a fashion model. I did model for 6 years and won “New Model of The Year” in a competition. Once departed from the modeling world because around that time it wasn’t as diverse and I didn’t feel welcomed at the time. I’ve always loved music but I didn’t start doing it professional until late 2016-early 2017 when I released my first song titled “Rebel”. From that point on I release projects and keep my supporters wanting more. There was indeed a lot of ups and downs but it’s important to have a dope support system that loves you and supports you genuinely. My brand is about the underdog becoming an idol; My story and what I’ve been through in my life will help the next person.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Honestly, when I started my journey I wanted to be bigger then life; When I was younger I was never the “it” girl I never fit in with crowds and I never did what other people did because I was always born with a mind of my own
I don’t have a particular goal I want to reach except better financial stability.
I love making music and creating a picture and bringing people into my world
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
48 Laws of Power That book is my daily reminder of how to deal with success
I learned that success comes when you work hard and put blood, sweat and tears into your craft
Making sacrifices to do better then how I was doing before
