Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nadia Palma. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nadia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
As a business owner, it can be difficult to navigate some parts of your business. You have the responsibility of making all of the decisions, even in things you don’t really understand. But there is nothing more rewarding than creating something meaningful not just for me, for all my clients.
I did had a 9-5 job for a really long time. I was doing photography as a side hustle for many years, until I finally made the decision to make it my full time job. But it’s much more than just a job, It’s who I AM.
I wondered everyday if I made a good decision. But now I know, it was the best thing I ever did with my professional life.
Not only I have a successful and profitable business, but I learned so much about other areas; like marketing and accounting. That is what being an entrepreneur is all about: getting out of your comfort zone, and never stop learning.
It is also important to remember why you started your business in the first place. Was it to help people? To make a difference in their lives? To make money? All of these reasons are valid and should be embraced in order to stay motivated and happy as a business owner.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I was surrounded by a vibrant culture and incredible nature. I developed a deep passion for exploring the outdoors: from hiking to mountain biking, snowboarding and horseback riding, I have always enjoyed testing my physical limits while taking in the beauty of nature.
In 2015, I decided to travel around Europe by myself. With my camera in hands, I spent the next 8 months exploring 4 different countries; and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. And in 2018 it was time to explore the US. Colorado was always a place that was in the back of my mind, and I finally got the chance to see the mountains. And yes, it was love at first sight.
My work reflects my love for nature and adventure, as I strive to create content that captures the beauty of our planet and inspires people to get out there and explore.
I love to capture the most intimate moments and creating a unique story that you can look back on for years to come. I believe in sharing the love that couples have for each other through my photographs. Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I started my career in photography, almost 10 years ago. And so many things changed since then, and many more will change in the future. You need to be able to adapt in order to keep growing your business. Today the best ways to grown your client is thru social media and SEO tools for your website.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
There are many key factors to grow a successful social media profile:
1. Make it specific! Find your niche and stick with it.
2. Post consistently. Every week!
3. I prefer quality over quantity! So don’t rush a post just because you have too.
4. Invite people to interact with your profile. Either thru quizzes on stories on Instagram, ask followers questions, respond to their comments, etc.
