We recently connected with Nadia Murdock and have shared our conversation below.
Nadia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I have had several defining moments in my life that always brought me one step closer to my purpose. These moments helped me to get clarity and grow as a person both professionally and personally.
Throughout my career I wasn’t always fully supported by other women in my space which subconsciously contributed to my feelings of imposter syndrome and prevented me from stepping into my own power. Although all the signs were there that I was truly meant to be there, I failed to see them because I allowed others to “dim my light”. When I was faced with a high risk pregnancy in 2020, I sought new ways to heal my anxiety and stress for the best interest of me as well as my unborn child. Through that I discovered so many new practices and methods that helped me and I wanted to share those practices in order to help other women. This is when I decided to couple my B.A. in Psych with a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This birthed my extensive mindset and movement coaching program that helps women connect their mind and body through movement and mindset while learning to love themselves along the way.

Nadia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Nadia Murdock, I am a mindset and movement coach and the founder of Nadia Murdock Fit. I like to say that I was my first client. As I evolved so has my business. I have a B.A. in Psychology and Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also a Certified Fitness Instructor, coach, content creator, writer and public speaker.
I fell in love with the world of wellness for so many different reasons throughout my journey. When I went to college I gained 30lbs. Being away from home, learning to adjust in an environment that lacked diversity and teaching myself how to deal with my problems effectively and in a healthy way was definitely not something that happened overnight. I remember looking in the mirror and not recognizing who I was. Not only physically but also my spirit, my happiness and overall demeanor.
When I started to reflect on my life I realized so much of what I needed was lacking. The absence of movement weighed me down mentally with fears that made living a full life impossible. I eventually adopted the tools to embrace the transformative power of a health-focused mind and body, leading to the development of my ‘Train Your Mind, Change Your Body’ philosophy, which has become the root of all my work, helping women take charge of their minds and bodies.
I always knew I wanted to reach as many women as possible. I started to share my messaging and programming on-air highlighting the importance of mindset and movement, I have been quoted in articles including SELF, Women’s Health, Today.com, Better Homes and Gardens, Pop Sugar and more. Within each opportunity I am reminding women the need to prioritize themselves.
I continue to speak at women’s leadership conferences, health events and hosting intimate wellness events to encourage women to not only take care of themselves but to feel supported in the process as well.
The thing that I am most proud of and continue to be proud of is the impact I am making on the lives of others. I have changed the way some women speak to themselves, prioritize themselves and show up for themselves. I have made a considerable impact on how they lead their lives whether it be in their business, personally and/or family. Knowing that I had a hand in changing the blood work results for some clients is outstanding! Making an impact and helping to change the narrative for my community is a great feeling.
My mission and purpose are to motivate women to adopt a self-positive mindset leading to healthier choices, body confidence and recognizing the importance of their mental health.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Being able to attentively listen to your client and not only listen but be open to understanding their point of view. In so many situations people are often trying to convince someone else to see things their way or only looking at a situation from one point of view. As a mindset coach I want my clients to make those discoveries on their own by asking themselves the right questions. Once the door of self-discovery and self-awareness is opened true change starts to unfold.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My years of experience, creating long lasting relationships that were mutually beneficial and the ability for me to tell my story from a vulnerable stand point. Oftentimes we create relationships only thinking about what we can get out of it, my first business coach turned friend always advised it’s a relationship you want to nurture over time. When the right opportunity comes up you will be top of mind. This became very natural for me as I really want to help others in any way I can. When it comes to being vulnerable, this took time. I would tell parts of my story but not the whole story, feeling I only needed to share the polished pieces of my past. My true and continuous power was discovered once I let go and unapologetically shared my truth.
