We were lucky to catch up with Nadia Jimenez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nadia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
While finishing up my last clinical hours at massage school, a recruiter from a locally owned massage studio, came In to speak with us students and offered us an interview with an opportunity to discuss possible employment post graduation & completion of the course.
I am forever grateful for that opportunity to establish my career and clientele while gaining experience in the field. It was at this particular massage studio where I would meet some of my best of friends who are now my chosen family, and some of my loyal clients who have supported me through this journey in all my seasons & have continually chosen me to assist them in their own healing journey.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I began in 2007 as a licensed massage therapist working for a local massage studio gaining experience, knowledge & friendships. In 2011 I was officially “burnt out” and took a very much needed break & decided to make some changes in my personal life that had been affecting me greatly, which I was unaware of at the time. In 2014 after much self healing and inner work, massage therapy kept calling me back as I tried other jobs, my soul knew where I belonged and what I should be doing with my gifts. So I reinstated my LMT license & the rest just manifested into this life of endless learning of the mind, body & soul. With the need and want to help others in my community tap into their own healing abilities. I’ve since established my mobile massage service for southern Arizona & continue to grow both personally & professionally.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Honestly, I would have to say is Word of mouth. My current clients, old and new have all come to me as referrals from someone I’ve worked with, worked on & someone who knows me personally. Followed by social media, it has been a great tool for meeting new people & promoting my business as well.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Absolutely! This is my calling. May sound cliché but nothing makes me feel more fulfilled besides being a mother to my children.
