Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nadeje Montes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nadeje, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Being successful requires you to let go of your old habits and engage in self-disciplinary action.
Many people make the mistake of thinking that, to be successful you must flash money, cars, luxury etc. But those are the aftermath. They are the outcomes of the preliminary work.
We cannot think of success if we don’t believe that it is possible to achieve success. Therefore, you must start the work from the inside first. You must be willing to drop off and leave behind the luggage and loads that were too heavy to carry.
Mindset work is a practice, and it is necessary.
Best lessons are learned from the scholar of “lived experiences”. It consists of these steps:
1) Self-Awareness: Identify who you really are. It is the deep soul search that is going to help you align your beliefs, faith and hopes.
2) Empathy: Learn to become compassionate and humble. And if in time you have lost those attributes, go back, and relearn them because you cannot be successful if you are not compassionate, humble, and honest. My best learned lesson.
3) Tenacity: You must be tenacious in life to accomplish the success you want. It embraces perseverance and helps you build resiliency from inside and out.
4)Consistency: Do it over, and over, and over… until! Consistency is the leading path to acquiring success. The more consistent you become, the more willing and motivated you are to achieve your dreams.
In the process, learn to stay on the path you are on, and don’t forget to always start with a prayer.

Nadeje, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Nadeje Montes. I am the Confidence Strategist. CEO and Owner of Goals Impact Coaching & Consulting, LLC (Branded as U Slay Confidence).
Goals Impact Coaching & Consulting, LLC provides professional and personal development to individuals and companies seeking coaching and training. Our services are 1:1 coaching and group coaching.
I am an Education Specialist, a Certified Personal Development and Executive Leadership Coach. I love and value what I do as a leadership coach, speaker, mentor, and educator. I believe that being in the moment helps relocate the mindset to manifest with momentum.
As a Confidence Strategist, I encourage individuals and organizations to set goals that are measurable, attainable and results focused. Together with my team, I can help you regain that long lost confidence, so you can get UNSTUCK, stay in control when you feel yourself slipping off your goals, and successfully manage your business and life without burnout.
I became an Executive Leadership and Confidence Strategist because there were many times in my life, I felt stuck, all over the place, lacking confidence, seeking validations, no goals but big dreams and burned-out from a not well-balanced life. I realized that the lessons I learned through the process of growth are what really shaped me.
I had to share what I learned with others who are like me. Women who are in a position of leadership, who are building legacy to change the generational misconceptions. Women who too, want to become the kinds of Indispensable CEOs who do not compete instead, they empower, inspire, and grow with others. I wanted to help them find the C.L.U.E (Create, Learn, Uplift and Empower). That is why the mission at Goals Impact Coaching & Consulting is:
“To educate, coach, mentor, and help you create your vision while you raise the standards with high level of confidence, get others to accept and embrace you as an authority, and help establish a more effective work environment for you and your team.”
As hobbies, I love to dance, I have a love for home decors and wedding planning that is why I got my certification as a Professional Bridal Consultant. I love road trips and drinking great wines. however, the most fun is enjoying good foods from great places. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the lessons I have learned is that challenges are my best motivators and teachers. I learned this in the process, don’t ever lose compassion, humility, and honesty. Once you lose them, you’ll lose yourself and find yourself repeating the same mistakes without any outcomes.
There were many instances in life when I was taught lessons after lessons. But I could not put them into practice because I was stuck with a fixed mindset. I was high on ego and stubborn like a nut case. I could not manage my finances, and I did not know how to properly do so ’cause I was never taught how to. I was severely depressed and never spoke to anyone about it. I used to think that if I do, “they” will judge me, make fun of me, or feel embarrassed to be with me or around me.
I was wrapped in anger and expectations, that I did not look deep into the smallest things that I had accomplished. I often saw myself as a failure. I was doubting myself at all levels. I pushed away the people whom I really loved and cared for. In the process of working on building my business, I was just lost repeating the same mistakes repeatedly.
This is one of the things many entrepreneurs tend to do…we find someone or something to blame when we do not want to change our old habits for new ones. I unlearned how I have managed my business goals, my thoughts about my finances, and my approach in spirituality. You don’t go far if you do not pray. It is that simple.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
The truth is a successful life is created by embracing the smallest and tiniest accomplishment. Celebrate your little step and celebrate the people who helped you along the way.
A team is not built with one person. It is built with many people who are willing to support, guide, grow and create together.
The success of a business, a company, a person is defined by the team that stands behind it. Bring creativity, make your workplace a safe space, and an opportunity to help others grow. People enjoy their jobs when they are seen, heard, and valued. They stay at their jobs when they know their ideas are valued and they are part of the creations.
