We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nacari Mosley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nacari below.
Nacari, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I wanted to make sure that nobody felt alone, so I made this website. The major objective is to demonstrate to those who are dealing with mental health concerns, who feel alone, and who feel judged that it is normal to communicate how you feel and that there are others who can connect. I wanted to have an impact on others while also helping them. This is a friendly, judgment-free space on my website. I want others to realize that while trauma is not your fault, you still need to take responsibility for your own healing. In the African American community in particular, mental illness is frequently disregarded; few people recognize it for what it is and choose to ignore it. I frequently encounter young people my age who have taken their own lives online. I had pals who committed suicide and lost their lives. I struggled with depression for a very long time, and I hardly ever managed to recover. I thought there was no one I could talk to. My family and friends weren’t absent from my life; rather, I felt as though they couldn’t empathize. I had the concept for this website so that no one would ever experience the manner that I and many others did when their illnesses were disregarded.I wanted to create a safe space to be able to talk about these things , and them not being treated like they don’t matter .

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Nacari Mosley. I am a 22-year-old author who writes books on mental health, self-love, and other topics. I am also a mental health advocate. In order to ensure that mental health is taken seriously, I created a safe space website. You can vent about your issues on this website and get in touch with others who might be going through similar situations. My website also has a donation option, and all money will be donated to a mental health organization . I feel what sets me apart from others , I am not afraid to talk about nor stand up for things many people ignore .
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn that you’re not the main character in everyone’s story, so don’t count on everyone to stop what they’re doing and support you. This goes for your friends and family as well; sometimes they just won’t, and that’s OK. At the end of the day, you have to realize that you built your platform for yourself as well as to help others; you built it because you believe in yourself, whether or not others do. When I first established my website or authored my books, I simply assumed that the people I knew would support me and it took me some time to realize this. Moreover, I wanted to give up when they didn’t have faith in me. As a result of their lack of belief in my aspirations, I wanted to ignore them and quit . I had to understand that you can’t do that, so it was a lesson I had to learn. The most important person to have faith in is yourself.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I didn’t initially have faith in what I was doing since I felt I couldn’t accomplish it. I was having a lot of pain, coping with despair, and numerous health issues. I simply felt that if I couldn’t help myself, how could I possibly help others? Then I understood that every bulb needs a new battery when it runs out of power. When you turn your negative thoughts into positive ones, that’s when you believe you can do anything and you start to do it. If I didn’t have faith, there wouldn’t be faith; if I didn’t have confidence, there wouldn’t be confidence; and if I didn’t want to help myself, I wouldn’t get help.
