We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mytecia Myles. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mytecia below.
Hi Mytecia, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is not a destination. It is a way of being. Success requires a shift in mindset from mediocre to brilliance. One can not make sense of success by merely seeking to obtain material things, accolades, or levels of privilege. A truly successful individual will exude God-confidence, peace, and joy. It takes clarity in decision-making, courage against all odds, self-confidence, day-to-day consistency, a loyal community, authentic connections, collaborations, and perseverance to cultivate your calling to be considered successful.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. I attended catholic school until middle school. I am the oldest of my seven siblings. While growing up, I was nurtured by very close family connections, and extended friends. My mother made sure that I was always in some sort of extracurricular program or activities. She ensured that I was engaged in community activities. She stressed the value and importance of “not being a teenage statistic”, to pursue my dreams. My father was a man of God and made sure that I knew that I was loved. I graduated from high school with honors, won the debutante ball, and was the recipient of the Coleman A. Young Scholarship. I left Detroit to attend Central State University, a Historically Black College, where I studied Broadcast Journalism. Learning and exploring life have always been key motivators. I am an alumna of S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University, Wayne State University (WSU), Michigan College of Beauty, Michigan Institute of Natural Health, and Michigan Paralegal Institute. I had the privilege of studying Radio, Television & Film at WSU, and Detroit Filmmakers Coalition.
In 2009, I relaunched my communications passion and became the Founder and Global Head of PR & Communications of Supernatural Success, LLC., a strategic communications consulting firm. At Supernatural Success, we elevate writers. I have the opportunity to support the creative work of writers, authors, literary agents, publishers, and producers. In 2008, after being faced with multiple health challenges, I was driven to create MyTi (my-tea) Ultra Green Drink. It was originally used as an alternative to traditional medication, but became a dietary supplement.
Over the years, I have provided media management for local, regional, and internationally. I have been named as an “Executive to Watch” by the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME). Through public relations, I have had the honor of consulting entertainment brands on television, multimedia, and film projects. In my work through Supernatural Success, LLC., we work to provide communications consulting and creative writing for film and television projects from conception to pitch.
As a contributing writer for the International Luxury Hotelier Magazine which has 600,000 readers in 90+ countries, Currently, I am a Teen Author Workshop Writing Facilitator for The Carnegie Writers, Inc. where I create the lesson plans for the seven week literary program. I host Mytecia’s Virtual Writers Café, an online platforms for writers to connect, create, and cultivate their craft. In addition, I facilitate the Call to Write Virtual Writers workshop and host the Elevate Writers Wellness Retreat. I serve wholeheartedly in ministry at First Baptist Church Murfreesboro in sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The health of my personal and professional reputation are vital to me as a business owner. One of the key elements that has helped in building my reputation within my market has been cultivating quality relationships. Over the years, focusing on being an asset to others and influencing successful outcomes has helped tremendously.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I have found the most effective strategy for growing my clientele to be providing five star customer service. Going above and beyond my clients expectations and treating them with the utmost respect and honor. In turn, they extend continuous referrals, connections, and collaborations.
