We were lucky to catch up with Mystro The Creative recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Mystro thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
After I retired from being a performing independent artist i still wanted to keep my name out there as I worked on other projects.These projects include short films,comedy skits and my biography in book form.I also like checking out new music and movies so I created a Youtube channel to do exactly that.
Mystro , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Like i say on the intro of every episode music as been an integral part of my life.I moved to Atlanta in 2010 after pursuing music for 8 years in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana.I really wanted to explore all of my creativity and I was told i would have to move to a bigger market. I decided once in Atlanta i would pursue music for four more years. If i didnt break into the music industry i would pursue my other passions of camera work and filmmaking. I also wanted to try my hand at running my own business. I owned and operated a custom tshirt shop from 2014 to 2017. When i wasnt at my shop i would book videoshoots and photoshoots all over Georgia and other nearby states. I have been nominated 4 times as ATL Videographer of the year at Atlanta Underground Hip Hop Awards. Winning once. My Youtube channel is 1 of 5 Youtube channels I run which keeps my creative muscle working every week.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency.Consistency. Consistency. As a videographer I constantly advertise and show up to many events to network and hand out business cards. As a youtuber i provide my subscribers with new content every single week. I never miss a week and i try to make sure the content is thoughtful and entertaining.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal is just to provide quality entertainment for fans of the respective genre. I also love to tell stories that inspire or motivate. Ill Music Reviews on Youtube is mainly a music review channel but I also talk about hot topics,give my picks for top 10 greatest songs from certain artists, food reviews and comedy skits.
