Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mystix Panda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Mystix , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Growing up I was a theater kid. I was always dressing up and having my grandmother teach me how to make my own clothes and costumes. Then growing up going the Ren Faires and even being in theater really made my fascination with costuming increase over time. Finally, ( since growing up loving comics, anime, art, Disney, and singing etc .) A good friend ,who is my beat friend , introduced me to conventions and cosplaying. It was so riveting and I felt like I was finally home. So for years I had attended and started really being in love and one day i was asked if I would ever guest and I was like….. sure sounds fun and from that moment on I was hooked lol. As for my art I have been drawing all my life and it helps so much when making my costumes so I feel like I sell art in many ways and it makes me so happy to have my love and passion shared with others.

Mystix , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well my real Name is Misty but alias is Mystix Panda. I am a level 34 professional nerd / cosplayer / artist . I do a wide variety of art forms. I an artist and I do commissions , price varies, and I am a professional cosplayer. I guest conventions , meet fans, sell exclusive merch and photoshoot sets.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
First of all stop being so judgemental and telling us we ( artists , cosplayers, models, boudoir models etc ) need to get a real job. This is a real job. It is hard work, constant grinding, and physically and mentally challenging. Though it is rewarding it is far more work than we may let off. Also share our art, whether it is drawings, cosplays photoshoots , pictures, announcements, and videos. Sharing our content across all platforms helps get our names out there and able to be seen to a wider audiences so we can bring our art and , as for me I love teaching people everything I know if they have questions I love helping, our knowledge to others. It is hard fighting algorithms changing all the time and or being up against thousands and thousands of other people trying to do the same thing your are and while we should all support one another its not always the case. We as creative rely on the Frans (fans and friends) to help us succeed. Which is why I can never thank those who support me enough because I literally can not do my job without them. I love all my supporters and friends!! Lastly if you want to see your favorite artists or cosplayers as guests at your favorite cons please go and request us and maybe we will get to meet one day !!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to travel the world being able to meet people and teach them about cosplaying with disabilities, autism awareness, cosplaying and living with mental health issues, and share tips and tricks with people from everywhere. Learning as much as I can and give back as much as I can as well!
