We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Myrna Steinbaum a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Myrna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I had prayed many of years 1989-2010 that God would bless me with this business, and it wasn’t till I worked in this industry, taught in it, and managed in it. Then in 2010 I felt the call clear as day and took the risk starting our business in the back room of our home and never looked back, and here we are in 2022 with over 60 employees God continues to lead this ship and we will be here till he moves us. We have been truly Blessed:)

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a Mobile Phlebotomy Company (registered lab) specializing in Home Health Care, basically we do in home blood draws. We do everything a Patient Service Center like Quest or LabCorp does but mobile. We work closely with Hospital’s, Home Health Agencies and Dr’s to name a few. Though the pandemic was horrible thing that happened, we were able to be in the front line helping pt’s and clients with their Laboratory needs.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Have you ever heard the term “fake it till you make it” well in the beginning though I was wearing all the hats I presented myself as though I wasn’t. The money I spent in the beginning was on my presentation I had nice scrubs with my logo on them, clean medic bag always looked like a million bucks when in fact I was barely getting by. My reputation was important to me then and it’s what we spend the most money and time developing striving to give the best customer service possible. We take great pride in what we do and our pt’s and clients are important to us.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Faith has always been my driving force, but their definitely have been times of resilience. I guess if I were to give someone advise it would be that your drive has to supersede your fear. You have to be able to take no for an answer and believe in your yes to get you through. You need to make failure your friend and understand that it is just the steppingstones to get you to where you want to go:)
