We were lucky to catch up with Myra Vorrice recently and have shared our conversation below.
Myra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I think at the heart of every immigrants tribute is to experience The Land of Opportunity and create more opportunities for themselves and their families.
My parents, similar to most immigrants came to America with high hopes and a suitcase filled with faith. I believe it was their resiliency to commute to America that has impacted my siblings and I in every fashion.
Growing up, my parents were my first heroes. My father was a hard worker and no stranger to “early mornings and late nights” to provide for his family. An entrepreneur, he led with charisma and kindness and everyone was infected by his positive spirit. My mother believed education was pivotal to success and made it her mission to excel in both academia and her professional career in the healthcare system.
I learned early on the keys to success was a combination of discipline, authenticity, resiliency, hard work and integrity from my parents which has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At the heart of real estate are people and those relationships are key to my business. I am honored to be able to educate and empower my clients in the capacity of leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions of commercial real estate. I’m most proud that they select me to be on their journey with them as it brings me great joy to witness my clients fulfill their dreams and accomplish their business goals.
Deciding on which commercial firm you select is crucial in safeguarding your investments. At Horizon Property Group, we make every effort to guide our clients to make the best decision that serves them. We are people centric and when our clients win, we win.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There are numerous customer stories that have made a lasting impact in my commercial real estate career.
Recently, the team and I represented a local business owner desiring to open his automotive shop. We located numerous automotive shops and even called owners that were not currently marketing their property, ensured each property had the correct zoning, aggressively negotiated his leasing terms and provided him the resources to submit a permit with the City.
Unbeknownst to the landlord, the City submitted a moratorium which prohibited automotive uses and a rezoning had been enforced. As you can imagine, this is not news a client wants to hear months before his new store opening. However, I don’t believe that “No” is the final answer. We discussed alternative options and our client decided to appeal. We attended the city meetings with him during the process to ensure we were with him every step of the way.
After several months, my client’s appeal was successful and his automotive shop is doing extremely well.
During the experience, our clients were comforted because we showed through our actions that we not only cared but we were willing to go above and beyond for them to open their business.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Prior to commercial real estate, I held various roles in coaching competitive sports. I view my team as family members and believe the key to success is everyone understanding their role and position while focusing on the teams mission. I believe we are stronger together and being calm and positive maintains high morale within our team dynamics.
When I was an agent, I realized early on the importance of having mentorship, resources and guidance for new agents entering into commercial real estate. This can be both a challenging and scary experience entering into commercial real estate and I want to make sure I lessen their load.
As an advocate of mentorship, I’m currently the Mentorship Co-Chair for the local Georgia CCIM Chapter which is designed to support new commercial real estate professionals with an opportunity to receive support from a seasoned CCIM professional in their area of interest. I ensure each mentee receives hands on learning, applicable experience and the resources to thrive in their commercial career.
For my team, I’m always readily available to provide support, answer questions and assist in the area of need. I also encourage and advocate our agents to take advanced courses in their specialty, attend conferences and immerse themselves daily in real estate.
As I manage my team, I also support a healthy work lifestyle and personal life balance. As we each navigate through life, I’m a proponent in keeping our mental, spiritual and physical bodies as healthy as possible.
