Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Myke Celis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Myke, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think I can sum it up to these things:
authenticity – the ability to remain true to one’s self and one’s core values and be comfortable with being unique, minus the fear of judgment or rejection
credibility – having the right skills, body of work, experience and testimonials can do wonders for one’s success
Integrity – honesty and transparency allows one to build real results and relationships
Strong relationships – having genuine connections with people you work/interact with can help you on your way up
having the right mindset and focus – to be self-empowered within, one must maintain a positive outlook, and have a sense of resilience and commitment to one’s self and one’s growth to be able to pursue the biggest goals with much clarity and determination

Myke, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Global Master Coach and an international best selling author of 6 inspirational titles under the #bestmeever book series. I help people discover and become their authentic, unapologetic , grandest versions of themselves.: their own #bestmeever . At present, majority of those I coach are celebrities, top executives and highly successful people globally. As a Professional Certified Coach of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I also mentor aspiring coaches under my company, Best Me Ever Professional Coaching, Training and Development Services.
Being known as the Unicorn coach, I think what sets me apart from the rest is that I don’t really try to fit in any mould. I always come from a space of authenticity and honesty therefore, I would like to think that no one else can be exactly like me and that is my super power. That is what I also empower my coachees and mentees to be: to become comfortable with themselves as they embrace and become the person they’re meant to be.
Initially, I would say that what I am most proud of are being one of the few thought leadership authors in the International Coaching Federation, being named as one of the 40 Influencers Under 40 by Insights Magazine and being a multi-international best selling author.
However, thinking beyond what is superficial, I would say I am most proud of being able to start my life all over again and pursue a career in coaching from scratch after 15 years in the marketing and advertising industry, as I live the life I have always wanted every single day without feeling like I am actually working and seeing my coachees and mentees become genuinely happy and successful in their chosen space. They are, after all, my receipts of my own success.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Growing up in a very conservative environment, I was always taught to live by the mantra of “better safe than sorry.”
This means that you always have to conform and go with the flow and just choose what would be comfortable and safe e.g. get a 9-5 job, tenure is key at work, passions are distractions and you can’t earn from them….and the list goes on.
However,, I challenged that mantra when I chose to pursue what really made my heart skip a beat: coaching, just the way as I am, while writing and speaking to inspire people.
By focusing on whatever is really important to me and acknowledging my true self and my worth, I was able to defy odds and turn my passion into profit.
With more than a hundred clients, 6 best selling books, numerous talks in the TED.com website and having the freedom to work remotely wherever I wish, I knew that I had to change that mantra to “better take risks to reap rewards.”

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Definitely referrals from existing or previous clients. I always say that I let my clients’ results speak for me and my work. And having my happy clients put in kind words for me every now and then as they speak with people whom they feel will resonate with me and my practice, marketing myself becomes so much easier. for me. To be candid about it, after each introduction and endorsement done, I just show my website, engage in a chemistry session with the new client (a free 30-minuter assessment session), and more often than not, the referral is good to go.
Of course, the real work comes in whenever I engage a coaching contract with any client. I make sure that desired results are delivered and they live happily ever after, enough for them to refer me.
