Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mykaila Boyd. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mykaila, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?

One day I was sad I had just graduated culinary school ( Dorsey college) I went over to my aunty (Tyleathea Hicks ) house and I just cried out we had a talk I had just experience a really bad break up finishing school had gotten tremendously hard … But I had finished and it became a bitter sweet moment so we sat and we talked I told her how I didn’t wanna loose my touch in the kitchen and I didn’t come this far to let it die .. I expressed how I wanted to help people be healthy because it was something I felt I was called to do . So we sat and I told her everything I wanted to offer and do pertaining to being healthy . It’s like a light bulb went off in my aunty head and she said to me “ you know what kaila we sizzlin saladz” ..I replied “ you know what we finna burn the ground down . Yes SizzlinSaladZLLC is solving all problems because I’m calling all my salad lovers and we bringing the heat . I feel that my approach to bringing healthy back is very unique and the most exciting thing about this all is I forever have something to look forward to longevity and I get to help and inspire people who may be scared

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into this industry back in October of 2020 when I decided to jump out of my comfort zone which was fast food and to broaden my knowledge and horizons . I feel that running a business is for me because I have ran and supervised some of our most popular restaurants like Popeyes ,Tim Hortons exc. Sizzlin SaladZ offers any salad you can think of handmade from scratch with fresh ingredients as well as our dressings. The problems I solve for my customers are guaranteed fresh ingredients and a fresh handmade dressing with a clean and friendly environment. I am proud of how far I’ve came and how nothing or no one can stop me Im proud of how the world is slowly trusting what I have to offer Im proud to see numbers rising on YouTube and followers expanding on Facebook. I want my fans to know that life is hard and even through the hardships if I can do it they can to . Building this brand has not been easy but I wouldn’t trade it for the world because one day I will target my people and I’m gonna bring smiles to the world

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The lesson I had to unlearn was everybody isn’t happy for me and meant to travel this road of success with me . I had to learn that it’s nothing personal to me but some people are content with being where they are at in life . And that’s not me I want and need so much more .

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

My life pivot when I went to prison I knew right then that was a situation and experience I was never gonna go through agian . I made the vow to myself that I needed to change my life and I wanted something to ensure was mines and would give me hope even after I had been labeled and judge and told I couldn’t. My career pivoted when I leaped out on faith and left fast food and went to Dorsey not one time but two times to better and educate myself in the food world . My business is now pivoting because I promote none stop and I’m networking and now touching rooms I have yet not been seen in and a lot people have faith in me and I won’t let them down
