Mychal-Bella Rayne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Well we were in Pandemic mode and it was my 5th anniversary as a transplant from NC to Los Angeles, when my mom & I decided to commemorate it by launching MBI Management …a holistic talent concierge with a humanitarian component. I can remember my mom and I figuring this industry life out all by ourselves. Mom closing up her business of 25 years leaving North Carolina in 2015 on faith to pursue my dreams; not knowing how we were gonna make it happen but knew it was gonna happen & still making it happen! We felt that if we could realistically share the ends to means to this Hollywood scene, what a difference it may make in someone’s life… & who else better then us manifesters. And thats how MBI Management evolved.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
MBI is literally an extension of my life to aid people that may not have the resources nor have a clue of how to navigate the Hollywood industry. The goal for this space is for the individual to become self sufficient via the arts. Two components that are sure to win. We created a 1 stop shop that entailed:
Interpersonal Consulting
Branding
Niche Development
Portfolio Management
Mission: Guiding the blind into the industry light.
I believe the interpersonal experiences that we share with our clients is what sets us apart. We can wholeheartedly empathize with the talent, whether it is the excitement of a booking or the uncontrollable rejection…we want them to know they are not in it alone but ultimately there is hope through guided decision making.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I think a resilience moment as a start-up company is the resistance you encounter building relationships within the tight knitched Hollywood industry. We basically had to start building relationships within my hometown, connecting with resources that my mom built from my personal journey. Even though we initially encountered resistance we did not allow that to break us; we just repositioned ourselves …built there and it made room for bigger relationships.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I think that not allowing those initial shut doors to lead to hopelessly & manifesting greater moments such as fast forwarded 3 years later we are now featured in FORBES. Endorsed by FORBES longstanding writer Mei Mei Fox. To be here made it well worth it!
