Mya’s path to founding Cyan Candle Co. wasn’t a linear one. After leaving a demanding full-time job to chase her dream, she found herself juggling multiple part-time jobs, running a household, and managing her own business all while being a parent. It was a time of immense pressure, and the weight of daily life often led to feelings of overwhelm. However, amid this chaos, Mya discovered something that would change everything: the soothing power of candle-making and self-care rituals.
For me, candle-making became a way to release stress and focus on healing, Mya shares. “It was a reminder to slow down and reconnect with myself. I wanted to offer that same peace and intention to others.”
From that desire, Cyan Candle Co. was born. But it quickly became more than just a place to buy candles. Mya envisioned a haven for people to nurture their well-being through intentional products and shared experiences. Today, the shop’s shelves are stocked not only with hand-poured candles but also with chakra oils, energy bundles, manifestation journals, and positive affirmation cards. Every item is curated with care, and designed to help customers embark on their wellness journeys.
Cyan Candle Co. also hosts a range of community events, such as the popular Glow-in-the-Dark Candle Making workshop and the upcoming “Mending Monday” series, where Mya will share her personal story of healing and invite others to reflect on their own journeys. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I discovered an unexpected source of peace…candles. What started as a small hobby quickly grew into something more profound. Candle-making became a form of therapy, a way to channel stress and pressure into something beautiful and calming. Each time I poured wax and crafted a new candle, I found myself more grounded, reconnecting with a sense of calm and purpose that had been missing from her hectic days.
“As I began creating candles, I realized they weren’t just candles. they were my moments of healing, Mya reflects. “It was about setting an intention, finding a moment of peace, and sharing that with others.”
Inspired by the power of intention and the healing energy I found through the process, I started sharing her candles with friends and family. Their response was overwhelmingly positive, and many of them began experiencing the same sense of peace she felt. That was the spark that lit the flame for Cyan Candle Co.
Driven by the desire to create more than just a product, I poured my heart into developing a business that would offer not only candles but also wellness tools to help others find balance and healing. The company grew out of this passion to create a space for self-care, intention, and community.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Cyan Candle Co. has quickly become a local favorite, not just for its beautifully crafted candles but for the way it brings the community together through creativity and wellness. Founded by Mya, a passionate entrepreneur, the candle company offers much more than just home fragrances—it provides a space for healing, personal growth, and connection. Over the past few years, Cyan Candle Co. has built a loyal customer base, and much of its success comes from unique client engagement strategies.
Workshops are a major draw for new and returning clients. From glow-in-the-dark candle-making sessions to intimate gatherings like the New Moon workshops, in-store Tarot readings, and much more these hands-on events allow participants to explore their creativity while learning the art of candle-making.
