We were lucky to catch up with Mvrco Tha Goat recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mvrco , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Growing up at my aunts house I’ve watched my cousins work with many artists, who later on became the biggest stars from Atlanta; such as Future, Alley Boy, Trouble and many more. And my cousins use to rap and produce ,so when I was around the age of 5 I laid my first verse down didn’t really make sense like what 5yr old you know was rapping about what’s going on in the streets. I feel like what could’ve help sped up my process would be learning the business side of things ,because so far all the label meetings I’ve been too it’s more so 70% business and 30% music so if your a talented artist but don’t know anything bout the business side it’s going to be very difficult to be taken serious as an Artist. The best skills I picked up along my journey ,is engineer and producing learning how to make your own beats and record yourself is the best time investment in the world. However lately the only obstacle that can stand in my way and prevent me from reaching my full potential is myself, if I allow myself to block my shine there would be no “MvrcoThaGoat”.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who don’t know me, I go by the name “Mvrco Tha Goat”. I’m a local soon to be global artist from Atlanta Ga. I grew up on many influential artists/rappers such as Outka$t, 2 chainz, rich kidz, and so on. I got into the music industry/business as a kid always had a feeling for it just never knew my purpose. However later on in the line I started takin my music serious after my sophomore year in Highschool, started going to class less and started hitting the studio more. An the work ethic back then was unmatched it’s like everytime we go to the studio I come back better and better, new sound new ideas, etc. So one thing I can be proud of on my journey is my work ethic. I have this tendency of wanted to be great and putting others in a better position then they are currently in. An I truly believe with a little push hope and guidance me and my team is going to be unstoppable. There’s nothing in this world you can’t do ,if you put your mind to it you can achieve it just got to believe you can.
