We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mtp408 a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Mtp408 thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
Oh man this goes back to some years ago. I remember meeting up with one of my customers at the mall for a beat sale. This was before Cashapp, Zelle, and all those other mobile payment apps. I sold some guy one of my beats for $25. But it turned out he wanted another one too because I let him hear some snippets of another beat I had in the vault. So, in total, I made $50 dollars in person; that was the first couple dollars I made as a creative/music producer. However, the funny thing was I did not have any data or wi-fi connection at the mall to send the beats right then and there; I basically told the dude I’ll send you the beats when I get home. Ultimately, the guy trusted me and handed over the cash and proceeded to complete the in-person transaction with ease. Long story short, I sent the guy the two beats once I got home and it was a great day. As a matter of fact, that same guy stills rocks with me and my music today. Shoutout to my boy. He knows who he is. Thank you for always being a loyal customer bruh!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Music Producer, Musical Artist, Songwriter, Sound Engineer, and Music Mentor. I provide the world with both products and services. I make beats, I create my own songs, I mix and master, and I also provide feedback and support on other people’s music. I been in the music game for a little bit; over ten years. I started out making beats in high school and then I slowly transitioned into creating my own songs. As a full-time Music Creator, I learned a lot. In fact, over the past years, I learned how to adapt to the various sounds and genres as they changed so rapidly. I adopted my very own sound with a twist of the sounds heard on the radio in the present day. Also, I charted on the iTunes top 100 in Sweden back in 2021 because of my song “Got Bitches”. After that, I charted a second time on the top 100 radio charts in Brazil back in 2022 with my song “Fake Accounts”. Nonetheless, I have done a lot and accomplished so much in the music industry. I built up a loyal and dedicated fanbase that spans across the whole world; and when I say the whole world I am not kidding or exaggerating. I love all of my listeners/fans/supporters that exist. My listeners/fans/supporters are one of the main reasons why I continue to do what I do. Thank you to anybody who ever listened to me or my music; I appreciate you all so much.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I feel like the most rewarding aspect of being me and doing what I do is seeing the impact and influence I have on others. I know that when I show people what I do, I am indeed being influential. You see, that’s the thing about me. I really love to motivate, inspire, and influence others. By me making music and preaching music, I am rewarded by influencing somebody in a good way. It could start off by being something simple such as me releasing a song and the right people will get inspired when they hear it; or I could just give somebody some tips and advice about music and the industry while teaching. Another rewarding thing about being a Musician is the money and notoriety I receive; which is kind of cliche. Like yeah, I enjoy all the royalties I am garnering based on my worldwide listeners/fans/supporters tuning in to my music because it shows that my hard work is paying off. It is quite rewarding when you acquire all of these things; the money, the fame, the influence; and they all happen to coexist in real time.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I recall being in a situation where nobody cared about me or my music. In fact, people were being disrespectful and even laughing at me and my music. I remember being in a spot where I felt like I had nothing going for myself. I had no motion at the time. I lost my job. I lost my girl. I lost money. I lost my freedom. I lost happiness. I lost myself. I lost; and this was a real pivotal moment in my life that actually occurred just recently. I pray that I never have to endure such pain and suffering again; nor do I wish that same type of pain on anybody else. I learned a lot from all of that though. I learned that I am strong and resilient; even in the most dire situations or adversity. I learned to tough it out and keep making music because I was born for this. I learned that this ain’t a game; this is my life; and I’m in control. I get to dictate what I want out of my life; nobody shall have that power over me. Along this journey, I learned to mute all the negativity and just use that to better myself and further my success. I am getting better now. I’m way better than you have seen before. I always improve. I always bounce back. No matter what.
