We recently connected with Mrs. Elizabeth Clyde and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Mrs. Elizabeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
I believe that the reluctance to work with family is what has contributed to the collapse of generational wealth. All of my family and I’s businesses incorporate and require the peaceful cooperation of our family. In return, I believe we have been able to grow our businesses and celebrate major victories with our family which in return has made us a closer unit. LVMH along with many other brands are owned by families and instead of focusing on one person obtaining all the status these brands are marketed more with a focus on generational wealth and not just one’s own selfish ambition. I believe we will begin to see more people work hand in hand with their family members to create something for the future generations to look forward to, and that is what we have managed to do for all of our businesses. When families have businesses they quickly realize that nothing is more important than the sustainability of a family and peace will become the main priority then profit always follows.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Good day, I could say I am many things I am most importantly a wife and mother who operates multiple businesses with her husband. I enjoy keeping my family goals first as I see it contributes to peaceful profit and natural flow of progression in my own personal life. I love beauty naps, monarch butterflies, writing, singing, and performing. I love that reading involves the reader using their imagination and our son’s have a children’s book series called, “Champion and Dominion Explore” and the next book includes an underwater adventure guided by a shark as they follow along in their amarillo (yellow) submarine. Fun times for family reading: Champion and Dominion Explore The Sea: Shark Edition
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As mentioned as a wife and mother I found it important to not rush progress so I have enjoyed living life at a pace that brings me joy and doesn’t lead to early aging. There are times where I must prioritize differently, but I promise everything gets done.
It is important to find a pace to your life and a flow and then progress from there then everything can flow easily and naturally with the Creator.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have given birth to all of my children at home. I contribute my resilience to a strength in the Lord and my nonchalant attitude, which after many therapy sessions as a child I can attest to my truth that there is nothing to really ruffle one’s feathers about. Life is very interesting in the way that it’s not about pushing or pulling but I believe it’s about finding a rhythm of peace in your life.
I was that kid in high school in honors classes telling my parents a report card had nothing to do with the success I would achieve in my life. They found it very peculiar, frustrating, and a little arrogant. However, I think I was raised as a self assured child with siblings so if I was told I couldn’t go somewhere I just reasoned with myself that I would not get mad I’m under their rules. My degree is in Psychology and I graduated from Clark Atlanta University where my mother and sister also matriculated with my father and brother attending Morehouse College. I was told I would be attending my mother’s Alma mater since I was 9, and so in my own children I would expect them to follow any tradition my husband and I felt would support their future best.
In retrospect, my type of behavior was that of many of us that are now entrepreneurs—we didn’t see the purpose in the busy work. I was a resilient child that despite my peculiarities I have remained uniquely myself which is a noble trait we should all posses. I never wanted to be anyone else but myself and that mindset came very early.
I penned a book entitled, “Pregnant and Empowered” which is a light hearted pregnancy guide that I created through Clyde Publisher’s. Our first son was born with our midwife present and our second son was born unassisted with my husband and eldest son present. After the birth, the ambulance transferred us and we were confirmed healthy. The doctors have even side eyed me for my choice of home birth, but it was my choice that I made as a child that I committed to as an adult when I met my husband. I do not promote home birth as it takes someone willing to commit that there is one way in and one way out so they don’t feel anyone can help them outside of finding other means to bring forth the child through medicine or c-section. The end focus should always be on the health of the mother and child so the best decisions must be made per individual.
