We caught up with the brilliant and insightful MRDEATHBREATH a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi MRDEATHBREATH , thanks for joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
For nearly six years, I’ve been making videos for my MRDEATHBREATH brand. Along the way, I’ve teamed up with actors, directors, content creators, and media companies for various projects. But I ended up overwhelming myself, struggling to balance my personal life with my creative work. It felt like I was always on the edge of falling behind, leading to constant stress and panic.
I used to dissect movies frame by frame for future content, and the pressure to review films right after watching them was intense. I even sacrificed sleep to attend events. But this behavior took a toll on my mental health, causing depression and anxiety. Thankfully, I realized the harm I was causing myself and took a much-needed break. What was supposed to be a month off turned into seven months.
Now, I’ve found a sense of peace. I understand that my audience appreciates my work no matter when it’s released. I’ve built a loyal fan base that values what I create. Looking back, I see that my audience was there all along, even when I was too stressed to see it.
During my break, I’ve been shifting towards writing and planning to launch an official website soon. I’m excited about this new direction and grateful for the chance to find balance in my creative journey.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I produce film reviews, unboxing videos, and blogs, while also collaborating with PR firms to enhance content promotion. Additionally, I conduct insightful media interviews with prominent film personalities, enriching the cinematic discourse.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
To put it simply, never sacrifice your mental health to propel your career. Your mental health needs to always be the first priority. People will use you until you have nothing left to give;it’s up to you to prioritize your well being.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to ALWAYS create content that is authentic, and entertaining.
