We were lucky to catch up with Mr. Yottaa recently and have shared our conversation below.

Mr. Yottaa, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

YOTTA by definition is the largest form of measurement excluding infinity. We keep this in mind with everything we do to ensure that we set the bar. In the beginning we started out as a clothing brand, then expanded to offering studio services, and now we even produce our very own podcast, “YOTTATALK”. With each and every one of these ventures our main focus was and still remains to be creating a distinguishable level of quality, care, and influence that is attached to our brand. I hope and believe that our legacy will be carried on through our name, products, and most importantly the people who have been inspired by our brand to set the bar in their own respective fields and in their everyday life.

Mr. Yottaa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

YOTTA started back in 2022 as a clothing brand. Following the success of that, and using my connections within the music industry I began to offer studio services. I have been engineering since 2017, so it was natural for me to add this as another branch of our company. Since beginning YOTTARECORDINGS, I have recorded in some of the biggest studios in LA and have had the chance to work with record labels like RCA and independent artists such as, Yung Fazo, Tniyah, etc…Soon after the studio services launched, I began forming a podcast because I was honestly a big fan of podcasts at the time and felt I had something special to offer being that I was younger than most podcast hosts. Over time the platform grew and we now have had platinum artists like MarMar Oso and platinum engineers like Marvin Delgado, who has worked with Lil Baby, Nas, and more on the show! We appreciate all the support so far and promise to keep you on your toes with what’s in store! Overall, YOTTA is here to service the creatives and entertain & engage with the everyday consumer.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Covid hit. I started investing in studio time in LA and got to be in some great rooms with some great people pretty early. At the time I was going through lots of issues with separating myself from other local artists when it comes to old features/videos etc… I ended up parting ways with everybody around and building from scratch. Also real life was happening, my daughter was on the way. This is when I had to pivot, it wasn’t about me anymore. So I got a overnight job stocking shelves at Walmart and did doordash during the day. About 2 months before our daughters due date, i took the risk and moved to LA by myself to get situated before moving my family. I was staying in a $5 a night AirBnB, sleeping on a top bunk bed in a room with 8 other men, in a house with 26 other individuals. Through it all I listened to that quiet voice inside of me and ended up getting a spot in a month AND in the same month I gained a position as an engineer. So at this point I had completely taken the artist hat off and put the business hat on. We formed an LLC to create our own production company and I’m blessed to say that we are able to invest in it from me simply doing what I love. All in all I’m proud of how far I’ve come, its crazy what can happen in 5 years. I’m 23 and I can say at 18 I would’ve never imagined this. I went from receiving jail calls being the norm to having a phone full of artists and business owners.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The biggest advice I could say is know yourself. I was able to gain 20k followers on TikTok relatively quick because I was doing something nobody else was doing, which was telling my story. I literally got millions of views just for sharing stories of things I’ve been through. So, just be yourself.
