We were lucky to catch up with Morghan Vincent recently and have shared our conversation below.
Morghan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
You ask the question, “What did my parents do right?” My parents always provides me with care, attention, and unconditional love. My parents have guided me and supported me in everything that I have wanted to participate in. I have had the opportunity to attend a great school, be a dancer (tap, ballet and hip-hop), a swimmer (since 18 months), a business owner (two businesses), go on summer vacations, and spend quality family time.
My parents teach me how to be independent. They believe that helping me with something is fine but the end goal is eventually teaching me how to do it by myself. While my parents are not perfect, they know that I am always learning from the examples they set. They want me to be kind, empathetic, and well-mannered as I grow up. I must try to be on my own best behavior and be respectful of others.
My parents can get so busy, but they never forget to take the time to show me how they feel about me. My mom sometimes does small gestures, like writing a note and putting in my lunchbox to show me just how much she loves me every day. When my dad comes home from work he usually has surprises for me. He knows that I like looking in his work bag to see what he got for me.
My parents know that all parents can sometimes make mistakes, and they learn from them. They show me how to take responsibility for my actions when I make a mistake.. My mom encourages me to always try new things that may push me out of my comfort zones. Because of that I was able to audition and land my first gig as an extra in a movie. My dad teaches me how to be kind, respectful toward others, be charitable, grateful for what I have, and have empathy for others. And of course, they want me to strive to get good grades, win awards and accolades for all the other activities I participate, and be successful later in life. However, who I am as a person is more important than which awards I get.
I love my parents so much. I am glad that God chose me to be their kid.
Morghan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi my name is Morghan. I am a 7-year Kidpreneur and 2nd-grade leadership student. I currently serve as the SheEO of MorghanElise, a t-shirt and accessory business and Rainbow Sprinkle Lemonade, a hand-crafted lemonade business. I am also the author of two coloring books, “I Can Be Anything I Want to Be” and “Emotions.”
At the age of 4, I decided to follow in my brother’s footsteps and start my own lemonade stand. The name of my lemonade is Rainbow Sprinkle Lemonade. That same year, I signed up and was selected to be a participant in the National Lemonade Day Contest in Dallas and won second place for the People’s Choice award. I was the youngest participant in Lemonade Day Dallas in 2019 and youngest to win the People’s Choice Award.
As a result, I was asked to sell my lemonade in Kendra Scott store. I am also an avid swimmer. I began swimming at age 18 months and hope to one day be in the Olympics. I also enjoy tap, ballet and hip-hop dancing and gymnastics.
I live with my parents who are always encouraging me to be the best at whatever I do.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me is participating in various events around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. One of my clients would buy a gallon of lemonade from Chick fila but after tasting my lemonade, she now has become a repeat customer. i pride myself in hand crafting my lemonade so the people not only get to see me make their lemonade but they can see how much love I put into making it for them.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I am still trying to build my brand. I hear that consistency is the key. I have a very small following now but I hope to build my following by the end of the summer. So if anybody is reading who can help me, I would appreciate that too.
