We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Morgan below.
Morgan, appreciate you joining us today. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
Yikes! Well the beginning was rough and I don’t say that lightly. Starting my own business while traveling a ton was really difficult. The early days of my business were spent focusing on my husbands career first and my small business second. We were traveling monthly and were really only home in the summer months. Back then we didn’t have FaceTime, zoom, it was pretty hard to run a business globally. I decided I would focus on creating meal plans & workout plans & not doing much in person training so that I could service clients from anywhere. Pivoting my platform really prepared me for the last 4-5 years when everything went virtual! I was ahead of the game & more prepared than some of my counterparts. If you are just starting out, my advice will always be to just go for it! Work with what you have and let your knowledge set you apart in your field.
Morgan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My company is LLM Enterprise and that encompasses several different whole wellness services.
I have been a Certified Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach since 2012. I have been able to help clients with in person gym training, virtual training, boot camps, meal plans, corporate wellness, juice detoxes, meal prep, and more.
I am also an NLP Practitioner—-this is something I was excited to add to my personal training business. This stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner and allows me to assist clients in a deeper way by understanding their fears, habits, self-doubts, etc. Through this, I am able to help clients get through road blocks in their goals, challenge and empower clients simultaneously, and interpret the clients prior experiences to better serve their current needs.
Certified Life Coach—-Adding this into my business has been a critical goal that I was happy to add to my services. Mind and body transformations go hand in hand with my training and I’m thrilled to offer this service to clients. Helping identify clients strengths and weaknesses, helping them overcome the obstacles along the way, developing a solid plan for their future, and incorporating my NLP methods allow me to transform my clients from the insight out, truly.
I am also a wife to my husband of 10 years, Lorenzo and boy mama to my 7 year old academic athlete, Logan. I enjoy running, a good glass of wine or champagne, reading, and spending time with friends & family. Jesus saved me & I am forever blessed & grateful.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely! During Covid my business actually blew up! People were forced to find ways to stay healthy from home and my business was doing just that. I had to decline clients for the first time in my almost decade of business.
There is absolutely nothing more satisfying than a clients success and I couldn’t dream of being apart of anything other than that!
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think you have to have something that sets you apart. For me it was making sure I could service clients as a whole. Their mind, body, and spirit. Having the added added education & certifications allows me to do that. There’s a personal trainer on every corner, knowing which one to choose can be hard, setting yourself apart allows you to be successful in your field & help as many people as you can.
