We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Morgan Scott a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Morgan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Taking risks is always scary, but it’s what is on the other side of that risk that could change your life!
I was sitting at the pool one evening thinking about where I was currently, where I wanted to be in the next year, and the years following that. I had just graduated college with my 4-year business degree and was anxious but hopeful for what the future held. I knew that I enjoyed social media and that I would love to make a career from it, but would anyone trust me with their money, business, etc.?
So right then and there I hopped on my computer, created a basic resume, and posted it on my social media for all of the world to see. I’m not sure what I expected to come from it, but the results were nothing short of a surprise! I suddenly had family friends reaching out about their small businesses, or their friend’s businesses who needed social media help and had so many people congratulate me and cheer me on!
I was blown away by the support and the trust these people had in me, in my skills, and in my now “business.” From there I began sending out basic contracts and proposals to potential clients and had landed my first paying customers. I was overjoyed and shocked that this was something I could do. Especially while getting paid for it.
This first year gave me so much opportunity to grow and learn how to run and manage social media pages better, to how to deal with current and future customers as well. It helped me hone in on my passions and allowed me to bring in an income to support myself!
In that first year, I decided that I was going to refine my business and recenter on what I enjoyed the most out of the work I was doing. And that was capturing content. As someone who was in the wedding planning process at the time and as someone who is social media savvy, the term wedding/ event content creator was running across my mind constantly and I decided I wanted to take another risk and pursue becoming a wedding and event content creator!
I can now say, that after multiple weddings, events, content sessions, and styled shoots later, I am loving it! And I cannot imagine what my career would look like right now if I hadn’t taken that first risk. So, my friends, this is your reminder that sometimes things can be scary, but scary does not always mean bad. Research, pray, think, and make your move! You never know what could be on the other side.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Morgan Scott, I am 22 years old, and I love capturing creative, raw, and authentic content for my clients. I have always enjoyed the creative side of Instagram growing up, and through my past years of social media management experience, I know the ins and outs of posting, and curating beautiful and intentional content. However, through that social media management experience, I realized that my passion was more in creating that content rather than managing it for others. I truly find capturing memories for brides, grooms, wedding planners, and anyone else throwing a special party or event is so life-giving to me.
I provide packages for my clients that include me capturing raw iPhone photos and video content of their wedding or event and turning that content into ready-to-post reels. But the best part is that all of my content including the reels, and all of the photos and videos I take will all be given to them within 24 hours of their event!
My business is Mormoments Content, which is a play-off of my name Morgan, as well as the fact that my business exists to capture more, authentic moments throughout your wedding day or event that might go uncaptured. I do not replace your professional photographers or videographers by any means, but all of my content is thoughtfully captured, and almost instantly delivered to you as the client! I am a FL girl at heart and am fueled by sunshine, iced coffee + Jesus. Even though I do a lot of events and weddings here in Florida I am always up to travel, so do not hesitate to reach out!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I have truly enjoyed meeting vendor friends who are in the wedding and events industry these past 6 months to a year and I would say that has been an amazing source of new clients for Mormoments Content!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I truly didn’t know what to post about when I first started, but I was committed to growing a page, so I just started hitting post! I posted reels about what I did throughout my day, I shared my weekly thrift finds on my Instagram stories, and I always gave people something to interact with like polls, and question boxes, things like that to keep them engaged but also to see what they wanted to see me post about on my page. Over time I have honed in on my target audience and posting strategy but I would say that being active on your story every day is a huge factor, and just bringing people in on the behind-the-scenes part of your day!
