Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Rogers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Morgan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
During my time working at Disneyland in my mid-twenties, I learned a valuable lesson that has remained with me: exceptional service, while cost-free, significantly enhances the overall customer experience.
Morgan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My interest in photography began during my teenage years, initially sparked by my father’s career as a photographer. At around age 16, I received my grandfather’s old Pentax Spotmatic camera, which allowed me to delve deeper into the craft with guidance from my dad. This passion evolved further during my tenure at the Disneyland Resort, where I worked as a PhotoPass Photographer. This role provided me with hands-on experience in digital photography and portraiture.
Following my time at Disneyland, photography became a cherished hobby once again, during which I continued to expand my skills and began teaching myself Photoshop. After the birth of my first child I decided to pursue photography as a business. Over the past eight years, I have diligently grown my practice and refined my craft with each photo session.
I specialize primarily in family photography and individual portraiture, with occasional work in wedding photography. My approach is centered on capturing authentic moments and genuine emotions, driven by a passion for the creative process and the art of preserving meaningful moments in time.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a photographer is the ability to capture and preserve genuine moments and emotions. The joy of creating images that evoke memories, celebrate relationships, and highlight the beauty of everyday life is profoundly fulfilling. Additionally, seeing how my work resonates with clients and knowing that I’ve played a role in preserving their cherished moments makes the creative process incredibly gratifying.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth from satisfied clients. When previous clients share their positive experiences and recommend my services to friends and family, it’s incredibly rewarding and a testament to the quality of my work. These personal referrals are highly valuable because they come with a level of trust and credibility that can be difficult to achieve through other marketing channels. As a result, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service has been key to growing my client base.
