We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Morgan Ramirez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Morgan below.
Morgan , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents have always been incredibly supportive of my passions throughout my life. No matter what I was interested in at the time, they consistently pushed me to be the best I could be.
I got my first camera in middle school. I would enter photos in fairs and community contests, and I’d drag my friends out for photoshoots. But it wasn’t until college that I started my business and began getting paying clients. During that time, I built a strong portfolio and a growing client base. Each year, my business expanded. I was offering photography, videography, and graphic design services.
Even though I didn’t earn a degree in anything photography-related—I got my bachelor’s in Agricultural Business—I was just as passionate, if not more, about photography as I was about my major.
As graduation approached and all my peers were applying for jobs, I dreaded the thought of doing anything other than photography. My business was in a great place, and I knew that if I didn’t take the leap into it full-time, I might never do it.
My parents could have told me to play it safe—to find a job with a steady income and a safety net—but they didn’t. They believed in me, supported my passion, and saw the potential in what I was building.
Two years later, I’m a full-time Arizona-based (and traveling) photographer. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and encouragement of my parents, who always pushed me to be the best I could be.

Morgan , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My love for photography began when I was young—taking pictures of nature and animals, and dragging my friends into spontaneous photoshoots.
It wasn’t until college that I had my first paying clients and officially started my business. During those years, I built a strong clientele, developed my portfolio, and even paid my way through four years of college with my work.
As graduation approached, I knew without a doubt that photography was what I wanted to pursue full time. Today, I’m a full-time photographer based in Arizona, and I travel wherever my clients are willing to send me.
I offer wedding photography, couples sessions, senior portraits, family and maternity shoots, and more. I also take on select graphic design and videography projects.
I create a relaxed, guided experience that helps clients feel confident and at ease in front of the camera—so they never feel awkward or unsure. From fast-paced events to once-in-a-lifetime moments, I know how to anticipate, frame, and capture the memories others might miss.
From the moment you book to the final delivery, I’m committed to making the entire experience both personal and professional.
Every time I pick up my camera, I bring not just my skills—but my full attention, energy, and heart. I pour everything into every detail to ensure my clients receive the absolute best results—because their trust in me to capture life’s most meaningful moments deserves nothing less.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Post, post, post! Consistency is key when it comes to social media. Regularly share the products you offer and showcase your work so people can see what you’re all about. Offer variety to appeal to different tastes and needs—there should be something for everyone! And don’t forget to show the real you. People love to connect with the person behind the brand before they make a purchase or book a service. Be personable, be present, and let your personality show.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Social media and word of mouth have been my top sources for attracting new clients. In today’s digital age—especially within my generation—people often turn to social media to find and research photographers. It’s where they view my work, get a feel for my style, and decide if I’m the right fit for them.
Word of mouth comes in a close second. Almost every client I work with has some sort of mutual connection—someone who recommended me to them. Then, after working together, they go on to recommend me to others. It’s a chain of trust that keeps growing with each session.
