Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Pierce. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Morgan , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was audition for the movie that cast me as the main character. Landing this role fulfilled a long-time dream.
Before I auditioned for this movie, I was at pivotal point in my life. A few years before, I withdrew from college due to some uncertainties about my life path. Among other revelations, I realized that I made the decision to attend college based on other people’s opinions and wants.I hadn’t done enough research and right out of high school, I wasn’t wise enough to make that kind of decision. After 4 1/2 years, I had taken out more money for college than I’d ever seen with my own eyes.
The career path I’d chosen back would not be enough to pay off the amount of debt I had; additionally, I was not very happy. I made a very abrupt decision to leave school until I figured out what I really wanted to do with my life.
After a couple years working part-time jobs, I re-registered for school. During the time in-between, I did a lot of thinking about what I really enjoyed. I asked myself: what could I do naturally and make a profit from? What is something I wouldn’t mind working hard for? How can I use the skills I already have to do something I really love?
When I answered these questions, one answer fit: acting. Being entertaining came very naturally for me and, as a kid, I always saw myself on the other side of the screen. I consider myself an overall artist: I like to write, I model and I enjoy art. But acting/modeling is an art form to me and it’s a craft I have a tremendous amount of respect for.
I wrote down a lists of things I wanted to accomplish before a certain age during this period and kept in the back of my mind. One of them was complete a full length movie. One day, at my new full-time job, I came across a flier for movie auditions. It was for a local independent movie, I knew I wanted to act and I felt like this would be a good start. I auditioned for the role of the daughter of the main character, who was a rebellious teenager who could rap. Coincidentally, when I was in middle school, my best friend and I were in a rap duo. I actually had to perform for the audition. It’s a good thing I remembered some of my old songs. My first audition was great experience.
I had no idea what would come of it. I was honestly just happy I was brave enough to do it. A few weeks later I was sitting in the park enjoying the sunset and I received a call from the director of the movie. He called to tell me I got the role. I couldn’t stop smiling.
Fast-forward to today, the movie “Un-Resolved” has been featured in several film festivals, won Best Ensemble cast at the 2022 St. Louis Film Festival, received Official Selection for the International St. Louis Film Festival, showed for 3 weeks at 2 major theatres in St. Louis and is now streaming online.
The journey with this film has been totally unexpected and has changed my perspective on life. I feel so lucky to have gotten a role that I could relate to and interpret so well. It was as if the role was made for me. I’m obviously glad I went to that audition. You never know how the chances you take can change your life. I have been to so many incredible places and met so many talented to people. I am so proud to be part of this collective and enjoy the reception the film has gotten so far.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My acting is just one part of my journey. I am working on establishing Morgan Pierce as a lifestyle brand. Under the Morgan Pierce umbrella, I will be launching my first apparel company very soon.
What I am most proud of is my patience. I get discouraged sometimes thinking about where I think I should be, but then I remember what I’m trying to accomplish and what’s that going to take. It’s going to take building relationships and trusts, establishing capital and understanding the worlds I’m trying to enter. I know that I have to do a lot of learning if I’m going to be successful, which is something I’m always willing to do.
When it comes to those who will eventually support me, I want them to recognize that I take my time do research and learn about whom or whatever I’m studying so I can have an orbicular understanding of that person or thing.
I think what’s sets me apart from others is how I think. I often offer a perspective on situations that allows for a clearer understanding which leads to better problem solving.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Contributing to the overall greater good is my goal in my creative journey.
When I think about the world and what I can give naturally to make it a better place, that’s what keeps me going. I believe I have been connected to my purpose and that purpose connects to the greater good.
When I took that time away from school, I not only thought about what could make me happy or how I could profit, I thought about the state of the world and what was controlling it. I realized that we humans control the movement of things. Our likes, dislikes, dreams, passions, wants-they all fuel the movement of the world. I exist on this earth and I want to feel safe so I changed my thoughts and behaviors to align with what I felt was most good.
As an artist, I believe we interpret the spirit of the world. I believe we have the ability to channel “the source” and bring forth colors, sounds and words that connect us to Original Thought. It’s where true human essence lies and we are all connected to it. The world needs more empathy, more honesty and more caring and if I can somehow channel that through my talent and my words, I believe I am helping create a better world.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I believe as a society we should see how art intertwines with every facet of life and it is an essential pillar to a sustainable society.
In believing this, there is more of an opportunity to connect and build through other realms. Art has the ability make you feel alive or re-awaken what you thought didn’t exist anymore. It connects to our inner-most feelings. Art as the power to make people feel joyful, sad or angry but only because it resonates so deep with our human experience.
I believe cities should invest heavily in art programs and entertainment. People with ideas should collaborate and be less fearful and friends of these artists should be more supportive.
