Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Morgan Myers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Morgan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Taking a risk, I would say that is my specialty considering I’m all about the famous quote “YOLO”. Have you ever been at a job of 14 years and said “ I’m ready to work for myself”? Well, two short years ago that was me and guess what? I did just that!
Going out on my own was scary, exciting, and the best risk I have ever taken. I can now support my family with no worries, travel, save, and give my son the life i always dream i would be able to give him.
I’m not going to lie I did and still do put in a lot of hard work along with hours but, I love it. I love what I do and wouldn’t change my career as a Hairstylist for anything in this world.
In two years i have accomplished many goals such as becoming Memphis best second Hairstylist, 2022 Woman to Watch in Memphis Magazine, and the honor to be apart of many more magazines such as this one.
If you don’t take risk you’”ll never know where your life could go. There are so many doors just waiting to be opened take the leap!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started Hair school at just 17, youngest at my school. It was amazing. I’ve always been into fashion and beauty so when I told my parents thats what I wanted the were very supportive.
I started my career at a corporation salon and stayed for 14 years. I wouldn’t changed a thing as it gave me excellent work ethic, taught me speed over the years, and also my co workers and clients will forever hold a place in my heart.
When I decided To go out on my own I quickly realized i wanted to Specialize in Blonding. So I took classes ( still do at least 3 a week) and hit the hair shows so i could learn everything there was to know about it.
Now here I am a Blonding Specialist in Collierville Tennessee with a clientele of about 90% blondes. Dreams really do come true if you don’t give up on them and with hard work.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In my area social media is key to building a business. If you utilize it it can work and help in many ways. Make sure you are taking pictures to show your work, pinning your area to grab your future clients attention, and making your post. For me i try and make two post a day.
Social Media is free advertisement weather it is big in your area or not use it someone will see it and even if it is one person and your do an amazing job, that one person’s word of mouth could bring you multiple new clients.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
For me I try and do my absolutely best with each and every client that sits in my chair. But also, me personally I try to build a relationship with them as well.
My clients at the end of the day become friends and family. I want them to feel comfortable in every way weather it be with their hair or talking to me about anything going on in their life.
