We were lucky to catch up with Morgan Matthews recently and have shared our conversation below.
Morgan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Yes. At first, I did a lot of free work. The longer I stayed focused, the easier it started becoming. I met more people, developed relationships with people and eventually started to learn how to turn everything into a reality.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a music producer and have recently started managing artists and producers.
Within the past few years, I have produced music for Alicia Keys, Miguel, 21 Savage, Aaron Carter, Twista, 3D FRIENDS, Kidd G, Kiiara, RKOMI, Anth, Conor Maynard, The New York Times, Ellen DeGeneres Show, MTV and much more.
I also produced the single “Show Me Love” on the Grammy Award Winning album “ALICIA” for Alicia Keys.
Recently I have started “managing” certain artists. They have become my friends more than someone to manage or a client. They all still have control over everything. I’m just here to help.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Art is always thriving
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I love creating and love entertainment business
