We were lucky to catch up with Morgan Linzee recently and have shared our conversation below.
Morgan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Growing up with two sets of parents, my actual parents and my grandparents, was a unique and enriching experience that has profoundly shaped who I am today. I consider both sets of parents equally important in my life, as our close bond transcended traditional family roles.
From my grandmother, I learned the power of intelligence and self-made success. Her remarkable journey and achievements instilled in me the belief that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. She was my biggest cheerleader, always encouraging me to believe in myself and pursue my dreams. Her influence gave me the confidence to strive for greatness and never settle for anything less.
My mother’s dedication to ensuring that my siblings and I had the opportunity to pursue our passions left a lasting impression on me. Her tireless efforts and sacrifices taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. Her strength fueled my ambition and taught me to never give up on my goals, no matter how challenging the journey may be.
Thanks to my grandfather, I learned the importance of kindness, gentleness, and keen observation. His gentle demeanor and compassionate nature taught me how to connect with people on a deeper level and appreciate the beauty in the world around me. As a photographer, these qualities have been invaluable, allowing me to capture moments with empathy and authenticity.
My father’s ability to turn talent into a career was a driving force behind my decision to pursue photography professionally. The thought that not every career is going to be “traditional”. There is a need for artists. His encouragement and belief in my abilities gave me the confidence to follow my passion and turn it into a fulfilling career path. His support continues to inspire me to push the boundaries of my creativity and strive for excellence in everything I do.
Overall, the collective influence of my parents and grandparents has shaped me into the person I am today. Their love, guidance, and unwavering support have been the cornerstone of my success, both personally and professionally. I am forever grateful for the lessons they have taught me and the impact they have had on my journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey into photography was deeply influenced by my father and grandfather, both of whom instilled in me a love for capturing moments behind the lens. Growing up surrounded by their passion for photography sparked my own interest in the art form.
As I pursued my passion, I sought inspiration from other talented photographers and studied under their mentorship. Learning from their techniques and experiences allowed me to refine my own style and approach to photography.
Since 2015, I’ve been a hybrid film digital photographer, blending the nostalgia of film with modern technology to create timeless images. With a calm, go-with-the-flow approach, I embrace imperfections, believing they make memories real. Inspired by the 70s, I aim to capture life’s precious moments authentically, tailoring each shoot to my clients’ unique vision.
My journey into photography began with a deep love for the 70s nostalgia captured through film, inspiring me to preserve life’s precious moments in a timeless manner. This blend of old-school charm and modern techniques informs my approach, allowing me to craft images that evoke emotion and last a lifetime.
Setting me apart from others is my dedication to creating new work with each client, tailoring my photography to reflect their unique vision and personality. Specializing in capturing real moments, I aim to create images that resonate with meaning and authenticity.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients, who trust me to capture their most cherished memories. Whether it’s a wedding, family portrait, or personal project, I’m passionate about preserving moments of beauty and significance, ensuring each client receives photographs that capture the essence of their unique story.
Combining the foundational knowledge passed down from my family with the lessons learned from other photographers, I developed a unique perspective and style in my work. This journey of exploration and learning has been instrumental in shaping me into the photographer I am today, passionate about capturing the beauty of life’s fleeting moments.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that the loudest voices held the most truth. Growing up, I encountered individuals whose smallest minds often came with the biggest mouths. Their loudness overshadowed the wisdom of quieter voices, leading me to mistakenly attribute validity to volume.
Throughout my life, I’ve been the subject of both positive and negative remarks. However, I’ve come to realize that none of it truly reflected who I was or what I could become. These external opinions were merely projections of others’ insecurities and biases, rather than accurate reflections of my character or potential.
As an INFP, I possess a vast inner world that is only revealed to those I trust and feel comfortable around. Those who truly know me understand this aspect of my personality, while others may misinterpret my demeanor as aloofness or indifference.
My best personality is revealed over time, particularly in small settings where I feel most at ease. As an INFP, I shine when I can connect deeply with others on a personal level, sharing my inner thoughts and emotions in a meaningful way.
However, being a photographer has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace larger crowds and new experiences. I have been able to have a truly amazing life due to my photography. Experiencing things not many people have the opportunity to. Through my lens, I can capture moments and emotions that I might not have otherwise encountered, allowing me to connect with people and places in a unique and enriching way.
This realization has empowered me to block out the noise of external opinions and focus on my own path to success. Instead of allowing myself to be swayed by the narratives of others, I’ve learned to trust in my own intuition and inner guidance. This ability to tune out distractions and focus on what truly matters has been instrumental in my journey towards personal and professional fulfillment.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to evoke emotions and create connections through my work. Whether it’s capturing the raw emotions of a couple on their wedding day or conveying the beauty of a natural landscape, knowing that my art has the power to touch others and make a meaningful impact is incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, being able to express myself authentically through my creativity and share my unique perspective with the world brings me a sense of joy and fulfillment that is truly unparalleled.
