Morgan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

That is a great question because a lot of times our brains like to always see/find the negative aspects of a situation first, and dwell on it, but I would say the one thing that my parents did right was to allow me to figure everything out on my own. If I did not master that skill I probably would have given up a long time ago. To allow someone to make mistakes, and find the answers out on their own really makes life better as an adult because I am not afraid to make a mess up and learn from it, or to start over. I really feel like having tough skin is so needed when starting a business from scratch, and constantly having issues come about. I know now look for solutions first instead of excuses.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Morgan, and I am a natural hair care products creator, and healing coach. I was born in Kansas, I love teaching about the importance of self care, and healing. I first began this journey in 2019 after my daughter was born. After giving birth to her little did I know that my life was about to be flipped upside down. I began what a call a spiritual awakening. When Adalynn (Olivia) turn about 8 months I noticed that her hair had a very bizarre growing pattern, but I thought it was just because she was a baby, and their hair grows kind of crazy anyway. As time when on her scalp started to have inflammation, and where ever the red or dry patches were is where her hair would fall out. It got so bad to where she would have hair one month and then the next month it was completely gone. This went on in cycles for months. Well me being the mother I am I decided to look into this more, and try out certain products over the shelf that claimed to help with hair loss, but unfortunately nothing helped. I started doing research on natural herbs, vitamins, oils etc that helped with hair loss, and thinning. I did this for months , and it was all trial and error until one day I created a oil that actually started growing her back thicker and stronger. I monitored this growth, and her hair did not revert back to thinning so I knew right then and there that I needed to get the oil in a bottle to help others that might be dealing with this situation, and that’s how my hair care company Olivia’s Nectar was born.

Fast forward into 2022 we have loyal customers, and gaining new customers everyday that are benefiting from the oil, and I also created Shampoo, Deep Conditioner , and hair moisturizer cream! I now spread the message of hair care is a form of self care. I think it so important these days to make sure we love on ourselves , and heal from our traumas. One step is to love our natural hair, and to form a relationship with it.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What I believe that helped my reputation in the market is my customers. The people will let you know if they like the product or not really fast haha. Fortunately the people who have tried my products love them and refer other people. I do believe that my products are top tier because I control everything that goes into the formulas , and I don’t source out. I want to make sure what goes into those jars actually work, and I make sure they are not harmful in anyway.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

We currently just are exclusive to our website. This helps me to keep a closer eye on the inventory, and allows me to have more affordable pricing. It also helps to keep the same message we like to spread because when you enter into our website I want people to feel immediately seen, heard and to feel happy and excited about investing into their hair health.
