We were lucky to catch up with Morgan English recently and have shared our conversation below.
Morgan , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
When signing with an agent, it’s essential to do your homework. Look into their reputation and track record—who they’ve represented and their successes. Make sure you genuinely click with them; they need to get your creative vision and career ambitions. Clarify what they offer—whether it’s contract negotiations, brand management, or career development—and ensure they specialize in your field. Review contract terms, including duration, commission rates, and exclusivity. They should be accessible, responsive, and transparent. Get a lawyer to review the contract and ensure financial transparency. Understand their team structure and additional resources, like connections to publicists or managers. Look for growth opportunities and educational resources they offer. Make sure there’s a clear process for resolving conflicts. Above all, ensure the agent aligns with your long-term goals and helps you strategize for future success. Taking these steps will help you find a partnership that’s not just beneficial but genuinely supportive, much like finding the right person in the world of love and friendship.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a creative, but I also assist other creatives in advocating for themselves. We host specialized events and workshops for artists in our studio space, covering everything from artificial intelligence to copyright, trademarks, negotiation, and contracts. As the landscape evolves, we help artists protect their work, demand what they deserve, and stay informed about the ever-changing industry.
What I’m most proud of is building a space where artists can truly grow professionally. It’s a bit like being the fairy godmother of the art world, but instead of turning pumpkins into carriages, we’re transforming uncertainty into empowerment.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Our mission is to provide artists with a space where they can become their own champions. Think of it as an artistic bootcamp, but with more color and fewer push-ups. We’re here to turn talented individuals into confident, self-advocating powerhouses, ready to take on the world and ask for what they deserve.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
As artificial intelligence builds, we should be aware that we still need artists. AI can be a great tool, but it can not replace the soul of an artist. I think that limiting its rights for copyright protection so that these works have fewer rights than human-made art is a good first step to support creatives.
